Whatever your budget can afford. There is no special TV or DVD player required.

My Fisher RS 929 controller board(front panel board)and the tuner board has failed. Where can I source these boards?

Unless someone has NOS parts most likely new boards are not available. (New old stock) I would check ebay unless you have some electronics repair experience. I would be glad to walk you through some test procedures.

My fisher rs 929 front panel control board and tuner board has failed.Where can I source these boards?

I am currently working on a Fisher RS-929.It took a static
lightning strike through the antenna connections on the tuner board
what I have found so far is a blown coil, which I rewound, and
3 7812 voltage regulator transistors.if either one of these devices are bad the display(control board will not operate)I will keep you updated on this repair as I expect the replacement parts in this week. Hint:it is best to replace all three and check the two bridge rectifiers also. As these systems were built in 1996 it is doubtful
that replacement boards are redily available

How to plug my fisher rs727 receiver with my kenwood km-106 and sony dvd cdplayer and adc sound shaper 2 eq.

Find the various manuals and read them.

Register and download the manual for free audio.manualsonline.com

http://www.hifiengine.com/manuals/fisher/rs-727.shtml

Keeping in mind this is just an analog Dolby Pro Logic receiver, there are limitations to what it can do sonically. Dolby Pro Logic is NOT 5.1 as I'm sure your DVD and possibly Cable Box are capable of producing.

KM-106 is just a power amp. No mysteries there. Feed it something, attach speakers, duh.

What did you plan to use it for in this scenario? If you want to slave it or drive a separate passive subwoofer with the Fisher as the central control, the best you can do is borrow analog stereo Line Level out from the unused Tape 2 or Video Out, but don't actually select them on the front panel. THAT would disconnect whatever source you were listening to. And you WONT have local control of the volume as you would with a real AV Receiver.

Sony DVD player (what model?). RTFM. I'd just run audio from it to the Fisher and Video to your TV, unless you want ONLY composite video quality.

ADC-SS2: See Figure 5 in the Fisher manual. Hook it where they show the cassette deck, using Line In and Line Out of the SS2. If you want to use a Tape Deck or 2 attach them to the SS-2 in its Tape loops.

How do I hook up a fisher stereo to my tv so I can here the sound from my tv on my stereo speakers?

You have to have audio outputs on either your TV or VCR/DVD to input into your stereo. Look for the red and white RCA connectors. Most TV's have RCA inputs for audio and video but not always outputs. VCR/DVD players all have audio out so if you have one of these units connect a RCA cable to a input of your Fisher amp. I hope this helps

I have a 30 year old tv w/cable. I want to install a dvd/vcr combo player. What kind do I need? I've tried one and it didn't have the right connection.

If the original TV doesn't have audio/video inputs, you'll need a DVD/VCR player that has a built-in RF modulator. A RF modulator takes the audio & video and modulates a RF carrier to one of the channels that your TV can receive. In the U.S., this is usually channel 3 or 4. If the DVD/VCR player has a built-in tuner, connect your cable to the RF input of the DVD/VCR player and the RF Output of the DVD/VCR player to the cable input of the TV. This way, you can receive your cable channels through the DVD/VCR player and watch movies as well. If your DVD/VCR player does not have a built-in tuner, you can put a RF switch inline that will allow your TV to either receive the cable signal or signal from the DVD/VCR player.

Good luck!
