Maytag dryer model PYET244ATW will not start.

Dryers have a number of interlock switches. If any of these fails, the dryer may not start. A multimeter is a useful tool for diagnosing this problem. Switches include: 1) door interlock, 2) Drive belt tension switch (usually located near the arm holding the idler wheel), 3) Overtemperature switches, 1 or 2 located in the back, near the periphery of the drum. There is also a fuse which might be near where the power cord is attached (easy to reach). There is also a relay which which should latch when the ON button is pressed. Finally, the timer might be bad. If the timer knob doesn't feel right when you turn it, the knob, itself, might be bad (cracked or broken at the hub). Start with the timer knob and, then, the fuse before starting to disassemble the dryer to find the bad component. When you have the dryer opened, you might get lucky and find a wiring diagram inside.

Ford code p1316

ford code p1316 is IDM problem ( injector driver module)
the IDM operates as 2 banks of injector drivers ( right and left and can cause one bank to shut down as if driving a 4 cyl
there are forum statements which say that there is a problem with wiring and clips inside of the rocker covers or broken wires
check that the harness and wires to the unit are tight
suspect that the module may be in an area that is near the transmission and the wires may have been disturbed
I went google and typed in--- ford fault code p1316 and there are videos and forum sites that will help you
code p 0562 refers to system voltage --low===causes ---wiring---poor connection--battery---alternator
also refers to ECM power relay control--circuit open wiring ---ECM relay
check that all harness connections were put back properly after the transmission job
code p 0231 refers to fuel pump relay---circuit low ===causes --wiring short to ground --fuel pump relay---ECM

Roper dryer will not start. Had just finished drying a load of clothes, put in the next load and it wouldn't start. The timer still ticks.

Maybe you door switch has broken?

The little tab should click.
Another possibility is dryer overheat due to lint buildup

8_17_2011_3_52_38_pm.jpgSee that white skinny thing mounted next to the air temp control thermostat? That thing will melt if too much junk gets into the lint filter or vent pipe. If it does it kills the door circuit and the dryer is dead in the water. More here

My Whirlpool Inglis Model IED4400SQ0 dryer just stopped. The fuse is fine. I think the problem might be in the start button but I'm not sure. I think this is it because the dryer stopped 2 days ago, then...

this doesn't have a board in it so you either have a bad timer or motor,i would think it would be the timer, try tapping on the timer with a screw driver or something light or wiggle the timer knob and see if it starts, also did you have this on timed dry?it sounds like the timer died and then somehow power went through it again and it ran,the timer controls how long the dryer will run so this is why i think it could be the timer,or a broken wire but try wiggling the knob and see if it starts.let me know thanks.

First, go to your circuit panel and turn off then back on the dryer breaker.Second, check for a broken belt. The belt switch will be open if the belt is broken and the dryer will not start. Next.Replace the thermal fuse located on the top right of the heater canister located in the inside rear of the dryer.

Pulled knob off 70 series Kenmore dryer.

I just took a look at your unit. Thanks for the model number. The knob when properly functioning, simply slides down over the shaft and should fit snuggly. Take a look at the back side of your knob and see if it is cracked. If it is, part number is 3402594 and your cost is around 55.00 in new or 27.00 in good quality used. Used would be cheaper obviously. Run a search engine for good quality used parts if looking for a used one. Good Luck, Eric Campion
