How often does it start and stop? Are there minutes in between or milliseconds? If there are minutes then it's just getting hot and needs to cool down before starting again. If it's milliseconds then your guides probably aren't tight enough. Let me know if you can be any more specific and we can get to the bottom of it.

I have a Lincoln power mig 216 and as soon as you strike an arc on metal my feed wire either kinks or breaks at the feed rollers and starts rolling out the side I have replaced the tip, liner and diffuser

Are there any kinks in the feed line from the spool to the tip that is causing the wire to not feed? Cut a length of wire and pull it though the feed line to see if there is a lot of friction in it, that would prevent wire feed. Finally, check the wire size - I know, but it is worth checking just in case.

Porblem with lincoln mig welder 135

Use a voltage tester to make certain you have current at the steel roller assembly that the wire feeds through. Check the diameter of the wire also, to assure contact at the feed rollers.

I have a lincoln sp-175plus, when trying to weld it the arc just melts the wire and it balls up at the end. I also put a new contact tip in. As well sometimes the wire feed just stops. I then press...

Your drive tension is too light. There are rollers that the wire feeds through and they need to be tightened. They should push the wire through the gun but slip if you put the tip against a solid object and pull the trigger. If they do not slip, they will jam your gun. Give the tensioner another turn.

Wire feed is not feeding properly feed stops and starts

Make sure your wire feed wheels are the proper size for the wire and have enough pressure to feed but not smash the wire. Make sure your tip is clean and make sure your liner isn't getting clogged. Once it's clogged, replace it. Put a wiping felt on the wire, right before it enters the pinch rollers, to keep dust out of your liner. Replace the felt, each time you replace the wire roll.

Century mig welder. The wire speed is spinning at max speed as soon as the machine is turned ON. Will only stop when machine is OFF.

My Century 225 mig has lost its power ...with adjustments to max it leaves a high weld deposit and low penertration.

What is the fix ?
