It most likely has to be reprogrammed. The tech should be able to program only the A/C control unit.

Climate control not working on 2001 volvo

I was having the same problem with a dead climate control module after disconnecting the battery on my 2002 v70. i tried (one method that sometimes works for people) disconnecting the battery again, shorting the leads for 10 seconds, and reconnecting with the key at position 2, to no avail. I managed to get my climate control back again when I jump started the car after the battery conveniently crapped out. then i got a new battery and when i installed it the ccm died. i jumped it again, with the new battery still hooked up, and the ccm came back. it's something try.

resistor is working but switch is bad. You can get a new switch from autozone for $20. Here is autozone procedure for pulling the control panel. Let me know if you have questions.
  1. Disconnect battery negative cable from battery and properly isolate to prevent accidental reconnection.
  2. Remove or disconnect the following:

Audio unit Instrument panel console bezel retaining screws
  3. Pull the instrument panel console bezel forwards and disconnect the electrical connectors.
  4. Detach the temperature and air distribution blend door Bowden cables from the climate control assembly.
  5. Remove the climate control assembly.

To install:
  1. Install or connect the following:

Climate control assembly Bowden cables to climate control assembly Climate control assembly electrical connectors Instrument panel console bezel and securely tighten the screws Audio unit Negative battery cable

97 nissan maxima switch doesnt work on 1,2,3 but work on number 4 only. what is wrong and how can i fix the problem. how can i r&r the climate control panel. thank your

problem is usually the resistor, but switch may be going bad too. The resistor is next to the blower motor, above the passenger's feet. You may have to take the glove box out to get to it. See picture below. Also, please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6234839-doesn_t_heater_or_air_conditioner_blow for additional diagnostic info. 1999 Audi A4 Climate Control Removal/Installation

You have to remove the trim panel around the stereo/climate control to expose the screws that hold it in place. Once you do that, and the screws are removed, it pulls straight out and unplugs. No need to disconnect the battery and no tricks to it once it slides out.

                      Climate Control

The electronic climate control is much more elaborate as you would expect and I see many more power connection points. These might be empty fuse sockets on your model. The factory would have installed only what was needed for the basic A/C.
Same with the Mach 460 system. The basic audio system with amplifier does not even include a separate plug-in for a sub. You might be able to get some degree of functionality but not without a lot of extra work.

                      Rear Climate control console

The rear ac controls have the snaps built in onto the unit. When they installed the overhead dvd they prolly stuffed the ac controls up in the headliner. You will have to replace entire headliner to reinstall the panel correctly. Be cheaper to repair dvd unit, and reinstall over the hole. The front controls in that car are the master controls anyway, you dont have to have the rear ones to make the rear ac work.
