How to download avchd files

There are a ton of HD videos available online that you can download and convert to AVCHD videos so that you can burn them to regular DVDs and play them in a compatible Blu-ray player. For example, Vimeo has a large selection of sample AVCHD content. Both AVCHD's MTS and MP4 file formats support 720p, 1080i, and 1080p video resolutions. When downloading videos you should try to capture it at the highest resolution (1080p) possible. However, that said if your video player or TV only supports 720p resolution then that's the format you should select when downloading a video.

RealPlayer Plus does not recognize MTS files. When using RealPlayer Plus to burn HD video onto a regular DVD, look for HD content in the MP4 format like the Vimeo screenshot below. If the resolution you want is only available as an MTS file, you will need to convert the MTS to the MP4 format using third-party software in order to burn an AVCHD DVD with RealPlayer Plus.

Where are my files (photos and videos) on memory card?

The Video codec used for the Panasonic G5 is AVCHD which is structured very strangely downloading a third party app to Handle them and remove them from SD card is often very helpful. As for photos the file structure should be extremely simple to navigate if you aren't finding your photos with very limited poking around on your SD card there may be something wrong. What I recommend you try is downloading a photo management app like Picasa from google it should fairly simpler help you download all your photos and videos of your SD card if they are still there.http://youtu.be/cMUUBJdcCiw

Magnavox NB500MG1F Blu Ray Player: I've been having trouble getting the SD card slot to read the videos I put onto the SD card. I've tried everything from converting all the video files to AVCHD file types...

It is obvious to me that the player can't read the video off an SD drive. In my experience that card slot is for installing updated firmware not video material.

My viera tv will not play any movies! I have converted movies to both mpeg2 and avchd formats, put them on my sd card, and the tv will not play them!

Panasonic requires a very strict AVCHD structure from a camcorder that nobody has been able to figure out yet.

http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/avchd-format-discussion/99716-avchd-play-panasonic-sd-card-slot.html

Seems like the Viera is fussy about video encoding.

I CAN'T VIEW VEDIO CLIPS ON MY COMPUTER FROM MY SONY HDR-XR200VE. WHAT IS AVCHD?

AVCHD stands for Advance Video Coding High Definition. Its a video format jointly developed by Sony and JVC. Windows pre-installed applications doesn't natively support this format. You would need the supplied software (Picture Motion Browser v.5) to playback or view your media files.Although it's possible to manually import files to your PC [Mac computers would need to have an intel-based processor, imovie'08 or '09, and NO SD (Standard Definition) FILES recorded to be able to transfer videos] still a you would need a mediaplayer software that supports and recognize AVCHD files for playback. AVCHD files are located in the AVCHD folder>BDMV>Stream. Files would have a .mts or .m2ts extension. So either you use the supplied software or invest on a AVCHD compatible video capturing or editing software.Hope this helps... (update may be released within this month for PMB v.5.2 but downloading orig software for this 2010 model cam, would be better to check this site (you can download PMB software if you don't have it): http://support.sony-europe.com/dime/camcorders/hdh/hdh.aspx?site=odw_en_GB&m=HDR-XR200VE
