Hi, You said, you configured your belkin router as an access point, did you add another device on your network that will act as a router? Have you tried checking your IP address? Is your PC connected directly/via ethernet cable to the wireless router or you're wirelessly connected to it? In order for you to access 192.168.2.1, your PC's first 3 octet's IP address should be the same. For example, 192.168.2.x. To check your PC's IP address: Go to Start>Run> and then type cmd On the black screen window, type ipconfig/all Look at your Local Area Connection's IP address If it shows 192.168.2.x, then see if the Gateway address is 192.168.2.1 If yes, see if you can ping the router by typing on the same window ping 192.168.2.1. If you get replies from the router, then we can isolate the problem by looking at your browser settings. If you get, request timed out from the router, then you may want to check if you have a software firewall that may block you to access the router setup page.

Hi,

You said that you cannot change anything on the router setup page, right? Have you tried to clear your browser's cache or used other browser or other PC to isolate the problem? There's a possibility that you are just seeing a web cache of the router's UI which could be the reason why everytime you change something it just goes back on the status page.

Forgot password on belkin 126 router how do I recover it

Any router that you cannot remember the password to your only choice is to reset the router to factory default and reconfigure it.
To reset a Belkin router:

Press and hold the Reset button for 15 seconds. The router automatically reboots when it resets. Wait approximately one minute until the router restarts, and then navigate to "192.168.2.1" using any Web browser. Leave the Password field blank and click "Submit" to connect to the Web-based interface

It should be under a cover in the foot of the unit according to the instructions. See page 32 and 33 for a factory reset.

When I connect and load the Belkin software my Internet connection will not work. It is almost as if the software thinks my computer is wireless and it is not. I only bought the router to run the Xbox live...

Dump the software, because the router may have its own web based interface. I do this. With luck, the router is on the web page:

http://192.168.0.1

I have had problems with many routers in the past, I just chuck out the disk and use the web interface. The automatic setting gave me automatic problems. You will need the instructions so do a search for the PDF instructions manual and save it to your "My Documents" folder for future reference.

My hardrive was replaced and I cannot find the startup CD or network key.

Depress the reset button, to default settings.

Press and hold the "reset" button for at least 10 seconds, then release
it. The lights on the Router will momentarily flash. The "router" light will
begin to blink. When the "router" light becomes solid again, the restore
is complete.

Login into the router using a web browser from your pc and create a new network key.

Using your Internet browser, you can access the Router's Web-Based Advanced User Interface. In your browser, type "192.168.2.1" (you do not need to type in anything else such as "http://" or "www"). Then press the "Enter" key. Try 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 and repeat procedure if address is incorrect.

Create a new network key

F7D3302v1 installed eventually but Belkin Setup screen appears every time someone logs on to wireless network. Please Help ! Thanks, SP

Routers include a security feature that allows you to specify which computers or wireless devices are allowed on your wireless network.
This feature is called "MAC Address Control" and only works with wireless devices.

Setup steps:
You can normally find your device's MAC address printed on the back or within its software interface. Please refer to your device's manual for more information.

If you have a Belkin adapter, you can find the MAC address on the product label.

  1. Open a web browser on the computer.
  2. In the address bar of the web browser, type http://192.168.2.1.
  3. Click Login in the upper right-hand corner of the page. The router does not ship with a password, so just click Submit.

  4. Click on "MAC Address Filtering" under Firewall in the menu on the left.

  5. Here you can enter the MAC addresses of each device that you want to allow or deny.

I am trying to find a setup cd for Belkin wireless G Router model # F5D723-4 . I need one to set this router that I have. I have the Books that came with It, But not he " setup CD" .

Hello Sir/Madam,

The only available download in your router in the web is the firmware, you can download the firmware in http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/301 but do not worry, you do not need the setup CD to set your router. simply connect the router using your internet browser. just type in address bar 192.168.2.1 and you will directed to the router web set-up interface. you dont need to use www or http just "192.168.2.1" . in the log in area you will be ask for password, just leave it blank, do not type any, just click submit. you can refer in your manual to set up your router.

I need to password protect my belkin wireless router

How to secure the wireless network

You want to secure the wireless network.
Is there any computer connected to the router with the Ethernet cable?
If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router with the cable.
Check the IP address on the computer. Open the router set up page.
Once you open the set up page, you will find the option to make it secured

I created a network name which i now want to delete because i created a new one. How do i do that?

Access the web interface of the router by typing 192.168.2.1 in the address bar of a browser.

Once on the web interface, go to Wireless -> Channel and SSID.

Type the new network name on the SSID field.

On your computer's wireless utility, it should detect the new SSID.

I hope this helps.

How do I put a password on my Belkin wireless G plus mimo router?

it depends on what you specifically want to password-protect: a. protecting the network from unauthorized users? b. protecting the network's admin interface?
for a. - log into your network's admin interface (usually http://192.168.0.1) - go to the category of wireless security - select the type of network protection you are looking for (strength - i.e. wep, wap, wpa2) and set your password following the steps listed within your router's admin interface...
for b. - log into your network's admin interface (usually http://192.168.0.1) - if you have never done this before, then your username should be filled in as Admin and leave password blank and hit enter.... from there, you are able to change or at least add a password to the interface from unauthorized access (usually under category security)
