Question about Mitsubishi WD-52525 52" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

I have the white ball of static in the middle of the screen. I have tried new bulbs, banging on the TV in vain(not really but i wanted to), cleaning the filters, and many other things I found online, and no matter what I try I cannot seem to get anything to come in on my TV. When I bought it brand new it was 2500.00 I really hope one of you can help and tell me EXACTLY what to do to fix it. I dont have a guide for repairs and have been unable to find one online, does anyone have one they could send?

I expect a bad cap or digital engine board.
look for "puffy caps"
this link isn't for the same problem but show what puffy caps look like.

The screen turned off - a bit of a static and the picture dissolved into a vertical white line in the middle of the screen and then blank. The sound continued. The remote did not allow me to turn the tv...

Try plugging it in and turning it on.
If it is the same, we call that busted.
Buy a new projector.
If it was totally black, it might be a burned out bulb. A white line means it is busted.

Gray spots on screen on a JVC HDILA model HD 56G 787

The HD-ila sets accumulate a lot of dust in the light engine. The worst offender is the little fold mirror just under the lens. I take my set apart about every 8 months or so to clean all the dust from the light tunnel and all lenses, mirrors, diffusers etc. The picture really regains it's pop when this is done. Unless you are a skilled technician though, I would recommend against attemptimg this procedure as you need to disconnect the individual color lcds. Check with a local service center to get it properly cleaned.

Hitachi 50VS810

It could be that the "White Uniformity" needs to be adjusted which would probably require an authorized service technican to perform. Otherwise, the problem may lay within the light engine itself, also requiring a tech.

Round shadows in picture

Sounds like the Bulb is almost out of life or a dustball or something is moving around inside the light compartment. Look in the instruction or user manual on replaceing bulb or opening bulb compartment or call Mits. for a service center in your area. Good Luck
