If you have correctly set the CPU in the BIOS, and saved the settings and still get the error, the CPU is not compatible with your system.

Most likely you have not set the BIOS right or have not saved it.

AFTER SWITCHING ON, SCREEN STAYS FROZEN AFTER SAYING CMOS CHECKSUM ERROR- DEFAULTS LOADED

Hi there,

When starting your PC, the following error message is displayed:

CMOS wrong
CMOS MEMORY size WRONG
CMOS Checksum Bad
CMOS checksum error defaults loaded
Warning! CPU has been changed please re-enter cpu settings in the cmos setup and remember to save before quit!
You are prompted to:

Press F1 to resume
Press F2 to load default values and continue

This is due to the fact that the CMOS, which contain data related to the BIOS, has been reinitialized and that your PC has been reset to factory settings.

Solutions:

Reinitializing the BIOS
  • Change BIOS battery
    • If the problem persist this may be due to the fact that the battery powering the CMOS (when the computer is shut down allows the CMOS to store information), is depleted.
    • The CMOS battery is a small pin found on the mother board, you can refer to the manual provided with your motherboard to change it or have the nearby computer technician change it for you if you don't want to risk any damage.
    • More information with: Replacing the battery of your motherboard (CMOS battery)
Post back if it is not working we will be happy to help you.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!!!!

I'M TRYING TO SEARCH IN THE WEB BUT I CAN'T GET

Normally Checksum errors mean that the Battery on the board may not be holding a charge any longer. Best suggestion that I can give is to replace that battery. You can buy it in any electronics store. Just make sure to buy one with the EXACT same size. If that still does not work you may ahve to update your BIOS you can message me about that.

Problem with my BIOS CMOS Setting

Its due to your default CMOS setup does not match with your CPU configuration especially with CPU speed.
  1. To fixed the above problem goto BIOS and navigate settings of CPU, speed etc. Set the speed with the proper value as per manual. And save the settings.
  2. Infuture when you will load default, at that time also set the CPU settings.
  • The CMOS battery might not be connected properly or may be its not producing enough power as per needed by board. So have a look with another battery. Also clean the connection point of the CMOS battery.

Good Luck

CMOS Checksum error - Defaults loaded

When the CPU speed stored in BIOS and the actuall speed of CPU differs then this error comes.

To fix this you have to select the actuall speed of your attached CPU to the board. Just set the actuall speed and save the changes. It will fix your problem.

Thanks

Monitor on but not working properly

If you just built the computer..the motherboard will give you a warning that some hardware has changed. you have to connect your keyboard and go into the bios and make sure everything is right. To be safe select set to default factory settings , save and reboot the computer. This is to prevent the settings for a previous cpu be used for the new one.
