Green Blinking Light WD-52525

I am amazed at all of the same problems with a WD-52525. I purchased this unit on Jan 02, 2005 for over $3000. So far I have replace the $229.00 bulb from Mitsubishi four times. On Jan 24, 2008 it failed and I had a repair service take to their shop and replace the SM Power Supply for $600. I am at the point where I do not want to sink anymore money into this. I think this is a total disgrace of quality by Mitsubishi. This is not a $500 TV. They need to own up to thier quality issues. Has anyone looked into a class action lawsuit?

Thanks for your reply. The TV has at least 10" all around the sides and back. Would this not be enough air flow? Plus when it blew yesterday it made this awfull sound for about 15 seconds. Could the lamp make that noise when blowing out?

Is it possible your having poor air movement around the set. If lamp is frequently blowing it sounds like over heating. Sorry your having troubles. That tv offers a fine picture.

Blinking green light

If you own the model WD-52525 it and the sets made around the same time are all junk----falling apart as we speak and nothing seems to help make a good repair on them.

Blinking green light is called "blinking light of death" and I did not coin that phrase but it is accurate. The green light up front that blinks is the Digital unit in the set trying to boot up----one of the many nasty problems this set can have.

Not fixable in the home and in my view not economical to repair for any reason---if you want to see some of the other issues this set has Google the model number with "problems" and be prepared to read for a while.

Mitsubishi WD-52525 with blinking green light problem

The #3 post worked for me. I first just did the capacitors and it did not work at first, but I got it reset. It worked for 2 months and lost power the other day in a storm and the blinking light came again and would not reset. I put in the switch and followed his directions and it work perfectly. Sweeet. The switch was easy. The capacitors were not hard, but very detail oriented. I work on copiers for a living, so I am used to taking things apart and back together. You must be able to solder and reassemble pretty well, or I would hire someone to do it.
