I found what looks like a usb/flash drive, except on the back says 'receiver". It also has a green light on front. Does nothing when plugged it into my computer. What is it?

Hard to say without having a picture of it. But most likely what you have is a wifi wireless network adapter either for a PC or a AV equipment like TV or DVD. It will work only when you have the correct driver installed on your pc. A bit different if AV wireless adapter as these are pre-programmed and you will need to know for which equipment it is compatible. A brand name or model number printed on the device would help find what it is.

Wont stop flashing green and I can not connect to xbox live yet I used to be able to Any Help Thanks, Paul

IF The LIGHT IS FLASHING GREEN then there is something wrong with your wireless network
Check your network settings and Retry connecting

Check the adapter's status light loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation'); The adapter's status light can tell you a lot about the state that the adapter is in. Here's what the different lights mean:
  • Steady green light: The adapter is connected to a wireless router, gateway, or access point. The adapter is ready to use.

  • Steady red light: The adapter is not recognized. Try plugging the adapter into a USB port on the front of the Xbox 360 console.
  • Flashing green: The adapter is attempting to connect to a wireless network.
  • Flashing red light: There is a problem. The adapter might be experiencing a hardware failure. Contact Xbox support at http://www.xbox.com/support/contact (http://www.xbox.com/support/contact) .
  • No light: The adapter is not receiving power. Unplug the USB connector and plug it in again. Still no light? Try plugging the adapter into a USB port on the front of the console

I was removing the video card to tighten a nut. I unplugged the power cord and pushed in the power button to drain excess power, notice the solid green light went to flashing. I then removed video card to...

Open it up again. Take the video card out. Take the Ram out. Unplug the hard drive. Unplug the other drives. Unplug the network card(s). And unplug anything else that is tied to the motherboard. Now plug it all back in snugly. Finally, turn it on. It should be fixed.

Microsoft wireless mouse 3000; put in new battery, still nothing

Your problem lies only in mouse. All procedures followed are correct, but take a close look at the bottom of mice where the receiver is placed when not in use, look for a tiny thin button that protrudes from one of the sides, it has to be depressed while receiver is out, it might be stuck, try to press it down gently a couple of times, it must come out. If it doesn't work, take off battery, now press down mentioned button and release it immediately upon inserting back the battery. Hope will work ok. Good luck!! Chawah.

Motorola S9 headset won't charge batteries

This might work if you aren't using the ORIGINAL charger. I had this problem when my cat chewed through the original Motorola charger. I figured my Blackberry charger would work fine, but it didn't. I then discovered that my Blackberry charger was 700mAH and the broken charger was only 550mAH. When I found another charger with the proper power it charged. I also found that it worked when plugging it into my computer with a standard mini USB. I hope this helps.

Powerbutton flashing yellow

If the main power button LED is flashing or solid yellow, this could indicate a hardware problem.

Was it running good before?

Are the diagnostic LED lights all green?

Here is what dell says:

If the power light is blinking amber  —

The computer is receiving electrical power, but an internal power problem might exist.

  • Ensure that the voltage selection switch is set to match the AC power at your location (if applicable).
  • Ensure that the processor power cable is securely connected to the system board.

Do you remember what the BSOD said?

Wireless presenter dont work

Did you press the right button on the remote? To 'sync' the sender and reciever, and thus start it working, you've got to turn the handheld OVER and press the mysterious little button in the middle at the same time as the button on the USB stick. Also helps if you have them right next to each other when you do this. You should see a green light on the USB stick, and the laser pointer should work on the handpiece if the batteries are good. Mine was working fine for heaps of presentations then suddenly stopped one day and only the laser pointer would work. Batteries were fine, as is the common story. Then I found out that if you turn the presenter over and press the 'reset' button in the middle simultaneously with the USB reciever stick, the two 'sync' and it starts working again, hey presto. I've always found it a breeze to use once I figured this out. If that doesn't work take it back, you need a new one.

PC totally locked

The flashing power switch and power supply LED on the rear in conjunction with a power failure or surge indicates that there is a defective component; typically the power supply, motherboard, memory, processor or modem. -Disconnect all the power supply leads, drives, and motherboard as well as any USB, firewire and other external devices. -Plug in the 115v power supply cable and look at he LED on the back of the power supply. If it is still flashing the power supply is bad and needs to be replaced. -If it isn?t flashing then unplug the power supply plug in one device, plug in the power cord and watch for the flashing LED again. If it?s flashing you?ve found your culprit, if not move on to the next component and repeat the process until you?ve found it. Don?t forget your plug in cards could also be the problem. Good luck and let us know if you have any other questions. As always please don?t forget to rate this posting.
