Cleaned transducer. Reassembled and refilled. Won't start. Screen is dark. Unit plugged in as before. What to do?

what did you actually clean? An outside the hull transducer MIGHT only need a LIGHT sanding on its face with 400 grit WET sandpaper. What did you refill...and with what did you refill it?? What did you disassemble? If you took your unit apart, time to send it to the factory and pray they can fix it!!

My intex sand filter is shooting sand into the pool

You have a broken "lateral". You will have to remove the sand from the filter, find and replace the broken lateral (pipe with slots in it in the bottom of the filter). When you are ready to refill the sand, put enough water in the filter to cover the laterals (several inches actually) to avoid damaging them as you fill.

Thanks for allowing me to assist you this evening @ FixYa.com

Pool filter problem

You have a problem ...

Can you see the little tube that bleeds air out of the return pipe? If not ... see if you can find it and get it to the top of the filter.

Still have sand? You may have a cracked lateral ... remove the sand and check all the laterals. Replace any that are broken.

When you refill the sand ... be sure to put water in first to soften the beating the laterals take from the falling sand.

How to refill the Hayward s200 sand filter for above ground pool

Fill the empty and cleaned tank about half way with water, cover the stand pipe in the filter with a plastic cup or some other means to ensure sand will not go down the pipe. Be sure the pipe is centered in the hole. Add 200# of #20 silica sand and once filled use your hand to reach in a level off the top as best you can. The sand will be about half way up the filter and now the water will be near or over the top. Once done, secure the valve in place and connect the hoses and you are ready to go.

Service a pool sand filter

Sand should be changed in a sand filter every 3-5 years. If you have alot of debris/vegetation getting into the pool it will be closer to 3. #20 silica sand is recommended. You have to remove all of the sand from the filter and refill it with new sand. Make sure to fill the filter with water up to the level of the lateral assembly to avoid breaking a lateral. If you're uncomfortable doing this, a competent pool professional should be able to provide this service for you.

Instructions on placement of the lateral assmebly w/center pegs

That placement is automatic based on the center pipe resting on the bottom of the filter tank and the valve being fully seated into the opening on top of the filter and clamped into possition. You likely have damaged laterals and need to replace that assembly in order to fix the sand issue. When refilling the tank with sand, be sure to fill it nearly half way with water before adding the sand.
