Yes, I opened the base (v-shape screws) and saw that the contact switch was burnt out. Where can I find the round contact switch?
Thanks.

SOURCE: I mistakenly pu the cuisinart

Hi im sorry i can only give you bad news these are not made to be repaired and you cant get the parts that you need, they are made to be thrown away after use which is bad i know but the cost of making them is low so they dont offer any spares as the cost of a new one would cost less than getting yours repaired,

so im sorry i cant offer you good news but with something like this its just not possible.

let me know if i can do anything else for you

SOURCE: My Cuisinart electric tea kettle just stopped

I took the base apart an repaired the electrical connection. You need a special screwdriver to remove the 3 base screws. I took an old, cheap flat-head driver and filed a v-notch in the middle of the blade so it would work to remove the screws. Had to replace the connector because of corrosion. That fixed the problem for me.

Sounds like your tea kettle may have exceeded it's useful life. Don't know about Cuisinart, but generally these kinds of parts are not replaceable. I am afraid you may be looking at a new appliance. Sorry.

Dead cuisinart electric tea kettle

Your tea kettle has a thermal fuse inside that more that likely got over heated, it happens all the time with irons, coffee makers, most small appliances that are electric. you have to take the bottom off to find it and replace it. does it have an indicator lamp?

Even though there are no parts listed at the cuisinart.com website, the company does a few base pieces left in stock if you call them directly - 1-800-726-0190

Teakettle handle came off

The Tea Kettles have a 3-year warranty - if you are within the 3 years, call Cuisinart for an in-warranty replacement. 1-800-726-0190. No one sells the handles separately, so if you are out-of-warranty, you will either need to screw it back on or buy a new tea kettle.

How do I clean the contact points between kettle and platform?

PROBLEM:

My problem was similar for the Cuisinart KUA-17.  I clicked down the on switch and it stayed down.  However, the light and power together seemed finicky.  That is, the light came on if I positioned the kettle in the base correctly, but then it sometimes went off without triggering the switch to pop up.  When the light went off while the switch remained down the water never boiled, but when I was lucky to position it such that the light remained on, the water did boil and the switch popped up ... as it should have.  It seemed to be getting more and more finicky and difficult to position correctly ... so I took it apart.
SOLUTION:
First of all, the base has screws that take a triangle screwdriver which I don't have.  So I found a small flat-headed screwdriver (like one you'd use for glasses) that just fit along one side of the triangle.  I was able to get three base screws out this way and since I expected to need to do this again in the future, I used my dremel to grind a larger flat-headed screwdriver slot in each.  It's been about a year and a half since I fixed it last time and this time I was glad I had the slots.
Once you get the plastic base off, you'll see the mechanics of the switch.  There are two wires that both turn on the light and power the heater element.  Where the wires connect to the switch mechanism, there are two metal tabs that stick out in opposite directions from the center.  When the switch is pushed down, you can see these two tabs move.  They are each moving to touch a contact and complete the electrical circuit.  My problem was they were not making a good contact.  The contacts are hidden behind the tabs.  All I had to do was bend the contacts one millimeter closer (i.e. as little as possible) so that they would make a good contact.  The only other trick was I had to remove the switch mechanism from the bottom of the kettle to do this.  Then I just used the same small flat-headed screwdriver to bend the contact as in the picture below.
