Remove the screws holding the top panel on, they are located on the back at the top. Standing at the front of the washer, push top panel towards rear, then lift up and remove. Notice the water inlet valves on the rear left while facing the washer front. Unplug washer, then remove the mounting screws holding valve assy onto machine, on some fridg's there are 2 screws holding an inlet valve assy onto the dispenser underneath the valve assy, they are very hard to get to. Remove valve assy from washer and replace. Remember to mark wiring locations as needed.

If the hose connections are good to the water inlet valve check that water is not leaking from the valve itself it is replace the water inlet valve.

Check the drain pump housing and all hose connections. The drain pump is down under neath. To disassemble your washer follow the appropiate tutorial. Hoses can be tightened. If hoses or pump housing is leaking replace the pump assembly.

Water fill

Possible failure of the inlet valve and so it is necessary to see the inflow pressure . If this is good then when the machine is switched on then the voltage to the inlet valve must be checked, if there is no voltage then the program controller unit is faulty. If present the inlet valve is faulty, try and remove , clean or replace .Click on : inlet valve replacement

Frigidaire FEX831CS Top Load Stacked Washer won't fill with water

First you should remove the hoses and clean the screens in the ends of the hose, some hoses have screens in both ends. While the hoses are removed look inside the water inlet valve there should be a screen in there also remove and clean the screen out. Some screens will not be removable so you will need to clean in place or remove the water inlet valve. If all is clear you will need to check the solenoids on the water inlet valve for power. If the solenoid has power when put in a fill cycle and no water eneters your washer you will need to replace the water inlet valve. Most water inlet valves must be replaced as a unit, so if one solenoid fails you replace the hole valve assembly. These are inexpensive and easy to replace. There is a video at http://appliancehelponline.com/topwaterinletvideo.html that will walk you thru the testing procedure. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. If you need help disassembling there are also videos of disassembling most styles. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. Not all models will be available. All parts come with installation instructions.

Can get water from the main water line but can't get water up to the ice maker help

HI. The inlet valve is suspect in this case. I recommend to inspect this device for damage. replace if necessary.

The water inlet valve is located behind your refrigerator. Find the water supply line coming into the valve and turn it off at the source (typically under the sink). Disconnect the supply line. Remove the screws that secure the inlet valve in place.

The water inlet valve is connected by two wires. Label the wire placement on the water inlet valve before disconnecting the wires. The wires are connected to the terminals with slip on connectors

Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals (do not pull on the wire). You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If the connectors are corroded they should be replaced.

Inspect the filter screen where the supply line connects. Remove any debris or deposits that may have built up using a toothbrush or warm running water. If you cannot clear the clog, it will be necessary to replace the valve (the filter is not removable on most inlet valves).

Test the water inlet valve for continuity using a multimeter. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X100 (if available, otherwise use the nearest ohm setting). Place a probe on each terminal. The multimeter should display a reading of 200 to 500 ohms. Close inspection of the inlet valve and especially the coil may reveal the exact ohm resistance rating to test for. If the water inlet valve does not pass this test, it should be replaced.

NOTE:- Make sure the inside line is not frozen over before preforming the inspection of the inlet valve.

Frigidaire Dish Washer. no water is coming into it. Shut off valve under sink is open, float switch isnt stuck. should I shut water off and remove inlet valve?

Verify that water is getting to the valve and verify that 110 volts is getting to the valve. If either one is missing then you know what the problem is. If you have both then replace the valve.

It's slow to fill Check to see if there's good water volume coming through the hoses attached to the washing machine. If there is, check to see if the screens inside the water-inlet valve are clean. (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If they're clean, you probably have a defective water-inlet valve. If so, you should completely replace the valve.

There's no water at all If there's no water at all, make these checks:

  • Is there water getting to the machine?

  • Is the water-volume selector switch set properly and are the control panel buttons pressed in all the way?

  • If you have a Maytag® washer, is the fuse (if there is one) in the control panel at the lid-switch bracket blown?

  • Is there a faint buzzing or humming noise coming from the water-inlet valve? (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If you can't hear anything, the water-inlet valve may not be getting any power. If you can hear some noise and there's water present, you may need to completely replace the water-inlet valve.

You may have a defective water inlet solenoid valve. replace water inlet solenoid valve for ice maker. Contact Frigidaire Dealer for part by Model and serial number. Replacing the part is reverse of removing old valve located behind refrigerator on right side facing the back. You may have to remove bottom back cover to access. Make sure you reinstall the cover for proper operation.
