Question about Apple iPod nano

Shows songs, but doesnt play them

Hi, hoping someone can help. I've had my nano for 6 months and it's been working fine. Today while I was moving through songs on a playlist it suddenly stopped. All the buttons and the scroll wheel are working fine. It lets me pick a song to play but it isn't actually playing them. It loads the song and shows the length etc but it isn't playing through it - it just stays showing that it has gone through 0 seconds. After a while, and not the full length of the song, it skips to the next one in the list and again doesn't play. I've tried turning it on and off, tried resetting the settings, tried leaving it alone for a while, etc, with no luck. I've also noticed that if I hold to forward into a song it jumps to the next one instead. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Have you tried holding the select (center) and menu buttons together? This will completely reset your iPod to its factory settings, whereupon you can plug it into your computer and sync your songs back.

I'd recommend restoring the firmware to the latest version as well, even if you had the most current version installed, as this will usually aid with these kinds of software-induced problems.

Transfer playlist from Itunes to Ipod Nano

Open iTunes and plug in your iPod. On the left sidebar there should be your iPod name (If you can't find the sidebar, go to iTunes menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar), go to your iTunes playlist and drag the songs you want to your iPod. For all of the songs, go to your iPod music library, even if you don't have songs, and on the bottom there should be a blue-ish bar. There might be a box saying "Autofill from iTunes library" click that ONLY if you want ALL songs from your iTunes to your iPod.
If you want to know how to put video or DVD movie onto iPod, I think this step by step guide would help you.
Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help.

Download to ipod

How Do I Download Songs Onto My iPod Nano?
IPod Nanos are portable multimedia players that allow you to playback songs and other content (e.g. video) no matter where you go. They come in a variety of memory sizes such as 4GB or 16GB (gigabytes) and work with iTunes to upload songs. ITunes is the iPod default management program which allows you to upload songs to its library, create playlists and sync music on your iPod quickly and easily. This simple process will have you jamming to your favorite songs in no time.

Downloading to an iPod Nano1Connect your iPod Nano to the computer using the USB cable. Launch iTunes if does not automatically launch. When you launch iTunes, it will display your iPod Nano on the left panel.
2Add music to your iTunes library. Click the "File" button on the top menu and click "Add to Library." Locate the song you want to upload to your player and click "Open" to load it to your program.
3Click the "+" button on the lower left panel to create a playlist. Type a name for the playlist and drag the uploaded file to it. To upload additional songs, repeat Step 2 and drag the uploaded additional songs to the created playlist.
4Drag the songs in the playlist up or down to select the order in which the songs will play.
5Sync your iPod Nano. Click the iPod icon on the left panel after importing songs and adding them to the created playlist. Click the "Music" tab and click "Sync music." Click "Select playlists, artists and genres" and select the playlist you created that contains the songs you want to upload. Click "Apply" to automatically sync and download the songs to your iPod Nano.
6Click the "Eject" button and disconnect your iPod from the computer.

Tips & Warnings
Click "Music Store" if you want to purchase a music file. Search for the song on the iTunes store and download it to the iTunes library.

Imported playlist from iTunes shows no song titles.

Hi, I suggest you to simply re-do this playlist, once done do not move it, so the best way is to save it straight to the folder you want it. Then you should do a re-detection from the squeezeserver control panel. thanks and have a nice day ! J -

I have an ipod 2gb by nano and im tryng to erase some songs i dont want anymore but i dont know how so please help me

You need to re-sync it to your library on your computer to move/delete songs off your iPod.

To have greater control, you can set your sync settings (one of the tabs available under your iPod in iTunes). You can create a playlist (you can name it whatever) and move the songs you want to it. Then, under your sync settings, tell it to sync just that playlist. This will allow you to chose what songs you want to on your iPod, instead of your whole library. To get any changes you make to the playlist to take effect, you'll have to re-sync but that should do it.

This is also helpful if you store all your music on your computer because your iPod may not be able to hold everything (which is the major reason I do this).

I pod Nano...

Two possible answers i found....

Are the playlists still on your computer? (This is the obvious question). If the songs have been moved on your computer or off of your computer, they'd need to be put back on and into iTunes.
If your songs are stored locally but the iPod is still not syncing, check to see if you have 'manually manage your own music' checked. If you do, it won't sync automatically, so make sure it's unchecked.
If that doesn't work, try turning on the 'Enable Disk Use' option in the preferences. If syncing still doesn't work, try ejecting (from within iTunes, *not* the Windows System Tray) and connecting again. If that still doesn't work, try enabling manual updating of songs, creating a playlist, and dragging it onto the ipod icon in iTunes.
I hope that helps. Let me know if it doesn't.

Other answer i got was 1. On the left menu bar in iTunes, go to your iPod (the thing will be called whatever you named your iPod)
2. Near the top of the screen, there will be tabs. Click on the second one that says 'Music'.
3. Now, make sure 'Sync Music' is checked and directly below it, make sure that 'All Songs and Playlists' is checked and NOT 'Selected Playlists'. Your iPod, if connected, should start downloading immediately.
