If you don`t have anything like wep or wpa on the back then you have to get into your router settings. goto start - programmes - accessories - dos prompt. type`ll get ip address, subnet mask, default gateway open Internet explorer and type default gateway in the address bar.hit enter type the username and password for the router.goto wireless settings and you can check the security if not then you can make one.take care.

How do i find my security key for motorola wireless

The wireless security key is the encryption key that is set in the wireless router's configuration.
You need to connect a LAN cable from your computer to the wireless router, then open the Internet browser and enter the wireless router's configuration URL, then the default login and the password, provided the login and password has not been changed. The configuration URL, the login and password is in the Motorola router's documentation.
If you have lost the documentation then go to the Motorola's WEB site to download the WR850g wireless router documentation.

How do i set my wep key

You may assign or change the WEP Security key from the Default Gateway website.
If the website asks for the username and password, you may contact your ISP and get the required details.
Once there, check under Wireless-> Security.
There you can find the option to assign or change the Security key.

Hope this helps.

How to set up wep password for my Motorola sb50101u wireless router

The WEP encryption key is configured in the wireless settings in the router. If your wireless router can support WPA and WPA2 then I suggest you use this because it is a much stronger encryption.
To secure your wireless network and view/configure or change the encryption key, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-

How do you unlock the secured wireless signal when you were not given the code

first you need to connect a cable between a PC and your router. Next she can need to log into the router using a browser. The routers should ask you for a login and password. the default password for your router is motorola. The user ID is admin. I have attached a link to the manual for your router. Page 71 of the manual will explain how to set up your wireless password/passphrase. That is the security code being asked for. Use the same passphrase with your PC when asked.

If this sounds your problem please leave feedback otherwise send me more information about what you tried in how worked out.

I have lost my router User Id and Password. So is there any way to fix it or i need to get a new router...

In the back of the unit there is a reset button, you need to hold it in for 30 seconds, this will set everything back to the default setting.

Your default settings are

password- motorola

You will have to run through the settings to set up the router again.

Need to change the security of my SBG 900 wireless router

Plug your router in with an ethernet connection and type into your browser address bar. This should load the modem login screen. Unless you have changed the username / password they are admin / motorola. From here you can click on wireless and configure the SSID and security setup.

Get to the security setting for my motorola sbg900

Bring up your internet browser, and in the address bar enter "". This will bring up a page that asks for a password and username. The defaults are:

Username - "admin"
Password - "motorola"

From here click on the wireless option, then on security, and I would suggest using WEP, and throwing on encryption. Also you will probably want to click on the admin option at the far left to change your username and password, since if people know those security becomes a bit more pointless. Make sure you do not forget your new username and password, as you can probably see there are currently many people on this site with the problem of not remembering what they set it to. :)
