Hi, have a look at this link. Its to the dell website and gives you some ideas of further troubleshooting whats up with your PC. Beeps are telling you whats wrong but you dont say if they are long or short or a mix as this indicates the fault. The beep codes are also on this link:

Hope this helps

SOURCE: Dell Optiplex GX520 message:

Hey,

there is a 3 volt flat battery inside the computer, it in most cases clearly visible.

Replace it with the same type of battery, then adjust the clock in the system setup.

All done, all fine.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,

Dell Optiplex gX520 will not boot beyond the splash screen. Dell Optiplex gX520 will not boot beyond the splash screen. There are not post code beeps. The lights on the front panel are 1 and 4. Both are...

Sounds like you may have multiple problems. Suggest trying to eliminate possible causes by removing components. Remove any PCI cards like modem, video card, sound card, etc... Remove the memory modules and disconnect cables to CD/DVD drives. Look at the USB ports to see if any are damaged. Remove the components one at a time and see if the LED's change.

DELL GX 520 Motherboard power led is orange, power button led is orange, the fun is running, no beep, no display....somebody help me with this dell gx520. sometimes it displays 3 and 4 lights on the front...

you should replace the motherboard or the power supply of your computer. to determine which one to replace is a simple test. disconnect all that is connected to the motherboard and if the problem is still there, then the problem is the motherboard.

My Dell Optiplex GX620 is making a soft beeping noise like an alarm. Why?

It in fact may be an alarm, over heating?
If it beeps in groups, like TVs do in an error mode, look up what it means on dell's web site.

I can listen to sound using my earphones on my Dell Optiplex GX520 but cannot hear anything through the internal speakers otherwise. How do I turn them on?

the internal speaker is only for beeps. These beeps are constant or short and only happen when the computer is trying to tell you how its about to die lol.

Buy some speakers. I would highly recommend a 2.1 system from logitech.

Six beeps at post and no joy with boot up

The exact meaning of the beeps for Dell depends on their... rhythm.

http://www.nullamatix.com/dell-diagnostic-beep-code-troublshooting-chart/

Six beeps might indicate a simple CMOS failure caused by a bad battery, which is easy to replace.

Unable to upgrade onboard graphics on dell gx520

Try disabling your onboard graphics in the BIOS. Some BIOS allow this. If you have a sound card, disable the onboard sound too. Count your beeps. they contain a code. Go online and "Google" bios codes. This should give you a starting point to diagnose the problem.
