Do I need to remove the front
The Bladefish doesn't have just one battery. There are several. I can only speak for the bladefish 3000. It has 5 batteries. They are 3.7 volt LiMg high drain batteries that have and expected life of 2 to 3 years whether you use the bladefish or not. You should not attempt replacement of the batteries if you do not have some experience in electronics repair. The batteries are bonded together in one group of three and one group of two. There are about 10 wires that are soldered directly to the batteries so experience with soldering is mandatory. That being said, they are accessed by removing the screws around the front cover and removing the foam pieces under the cover. Then you have to remove the nut on the front of the propeller blade and remove the drive belt and the small drive gear from the motor shaft. once that has been done you can slide a putty knife under the edge of the clear cover and slowly pry it open slowly as you work your way around the unit. I've read that this is almost an impossible task but I did all of the above in about 30 minutes. The real difficult task is to do the physical replacement of the batteries. This requires real skill with a soldering iron and attention to detail. You cannot risk making a mistake in replacement of the wires. Battery polarity is critical. If you get on battery wrong you risk serious damage to the electronics of the Bladefish. When done with the battery replacement you need to be sure to put silicone grease on all of the seals then slowly press it back together and re install the hardware. Any Questions
Hi, thanks for help, I'm in the process to replace batteries in Bladefish 5000. Could you tell me, what exactly batteries you used to replace? How amperage should have batteries?
The batteries that I used have the following markings: Li-ion 26650 3500mah 3.7V rechargeable battery. I believe that the actual part number is 26650 and can be purchased online at Ebay. The batteries are between 8 and 10 dollars (US) each. These batteries are what are used in the Bladefish 3000 but I would guess that the 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000 and 5000 all use the same batteries. Once you open up your Bladefish and look at the batteries you will be able to tell. As I stated in my previous post unless you are an experienced technician with good soldering skills you should not attempt this.
I am trying to get my Bladefish 3000 apart and could use some help. I removed the 9 screws on the face and the nut on the back of the drive shaft. The orange plastic face comes loose but the center stays tight. Exactly what do I do after removing the screws and nut? Thanks!

Google found this:
it is behind the front passenger wheel fender
The battery is buried within the front section of the passenger side front fender.
Disconnect the neg battery cable close to the firewall.
Remove the bolts holding the air cleaner assembly in place.
(Removing the air feed tube from the air cleaner assembly helps)
Once this is removed, you should be able to see the battery hold-down bolts.
Remove these and remove the hold-down assembly.
If you are removing the battery, remove the 1st battery cable.
Depending upon what battery you have, you may be able to slide the battery back toward the wheel and disconnect the 2nd cable.
Jack the vehicle up, put on jack stands and remove the passenger side wheel.
On the front side of the wheel well there is an access panel that needs to be removed in order to access the battery. There are 6-8 1/4" screws to remove. Then manipulate the cover until you can remove it, bending it slightly.
If you were unable to disconnect the 2nd battery cable earlier, you can now move the battery further towards the rear of the car. Remove the 2nd cable clamp from under the hood.
Slide the battery all the way out. It is heavy!
Reverse the instructions for reassembly.
Hope this helps.....
