When plugged in the USB Port, the device lights up (continuous light), but the computer does not recognize it as a removeable storage device or any other device. I've taken the device to several other computers with the same result regardless of the operating system (Windows XP or Vista).
This is a known issue at SanDisk but the fixes listed on the website have failed to produce any results or even be applicable to this issue.
I don't believe the device is faulty because too many users have this very same issue. You'd think SanDisk would be more customer friendly if they want to sell any more devices rather than leave so many customers stranded.
The Scandisk use two drives. One is a cd-rom emulation where the U3 utility resides and run. the other is the disk itself. Try the device on other computer and try other usb devices on your computer and analize the results. Note: On a Mac you only will see one disk drive.
Is your computer recognize other storage devices and you U3 disk doesnt work on other computer the drive is most likely to be corrupted. In this case you will need to install the uility from Sandisk to recover the functionality of your drive.
