Olympus 2.1 Megapixel zoom lens does not come out fully

I have an Olympus Camedia digital camera , 2.1 Megapixel. The lens will not extract fully and so it will take ap picture but it is out of focus. I understand the lens get off track and must be put back on track. How do I get it apart to align the lens? Removing screws does not help.

Olympus xD-Picture Card "Card Error"

First things first - need to make sure that the card is making proper electrical contact with the camera. Have a look at the contacts at the edge of the card and make sure they are spotlessly clean - even a fingerprint may cause problems.

Also, make sure the contacts in the camera have nothing causing a contact problem, and see if this resolves the issue.

Regards, Andy

Zoom Lens doesn't Zoom

Check you haven't accidentally got the camera into some fixed-zoom mode ("Super-Macro" is a favourite for this on Olympus cameras).

The unusual beeps usually occur when the lens cannot be extended or retracted, often due to dirt in the gearing or the lens cap being left on.
Try using canned air to blow around the outside of the extension cylinder, and, putting a fresh set of batteries in the camera (it probably got stuck on since it couldn't fully retract the lens and didn't complete the shutdown).
If that doesn't work, try taking it to a camera store with repair technicians and having them take apart and clean the lens extension/retraction mechanism.
