The speakers no longer work. They were working 2

selectbanker, As a test only try this. Remove green plug from rear of pc. Find old am/fm stereo transistor radio or even a portable cd player and connect the green plug to your "new" audio source. Can you hear anything coming out of the monitor's speakers? Also try a set of stereo headphones in the green audio "out" jack to see if sound is coming out of the pc. Narrow down where loss of signal occurs first. 12fixlouie

I have a Sceptre X7G Komodo II 17" LCD monitor/built-in speakers

You would need to connect the speakers to your computer. There should be a little jack on the back of the monitor marked audio. This will need to be connected to your soundcard jack for front speakers. Once this cable is connected you should have sound from your speakers. Hope this helps.

Junky speakers

One of the speakers is blown so unless you can find a replacement speaker for the blown one then you have to either buy a set of other speakers to replace the speakers in the monitor or buy speakers you can hook up to output of the computer.

Low volume sound

I was afraid of that. The speaker system is only half in the monitor the other part(Amplifier section) was in your old computer. Here is a possible solution. Buy an external sound /speaker system. The amplifier comes with it and many can be had at a reasonable cost at **** places as  Walmart , target ,etc. Sorry. but the speakers on  your monitor, I believe ,  will not work with you new computer. Sorry.

No. HDMI transfers picture and sound, but DVI does not. You need a audio line as well.

Re No sound from monitor speakers

Thanks for the info,

Ok heres what I would doo to fix this.....

Get the original disk with the drivers on it and reinstall it.

If you don't have the disk then you will have to ......

(unplug sound card - if its a plug in)
Remove the cables, check for model and make, download from net.
or
if sound on motherboard then download the model and make also.

You will have to load the downloaded drivers on to a disk.
2.update your device drivers and point the wizard at the disk,

Reboot and that should be it sorted,

Thanks and let me know the outcome,Cheers

No sound out of monitor speakers

Is there actually any unknown devices in the device`manager?

Are your monitor speakers USB or do they plug into the audio out jack of your sound card or motherboard???

If they plug into the sound jack, then test the sound output with a pair of headphones.

Hope this helps you narrow it down. Please reply back if you need further help
