You have a bad lens or the flex cable from the lens to the camera board has come loose. Chances are the lens is bad. Costly and most often not worth repairing.

I dropped my Olympus FE-340 digital camera. It will not open when I turn it on. The lens stays closed and inside the front of the camera.

Sounds as if an internal linkage has become misaligned. Not user serviceable, unless you are an expert - scamper down to your local friendly camera dealer or repair facility and see how much they would charge. May be cheaper to replace the camera, unfortunately.

I have a Olympus FE-340 that when I put the power on the lens goes in and out and then shuts off .

This sounds like a very low battery. If it won't charge up, then the battery may simply have come to the end of its useful life and need to be replaced.

Do you experience low battery? Have you tried using brand new and fully charged rechargeable batteries like NiMH or NiCd?

My FE 340 Olympus Camera tries to turn on, but can't. Lens goes in and out several times then shuts off completely. Battery is fully charged.

This is probably THE single most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Camera doesn't start

It may be something more serious, or as simple as replacing weak batteries, but the problem you describe is frequently due to corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a clean cloth (heavy corrosion buildups may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment, clean the contacts at both ends of the batteries, and reinstall them in the camera. Assuming that the batteries are fresh/fully charged, this takes care of about 90% of the startup problems. I hope it works for you.

Fe-340 wont turn on

If the lens is stuck out, that either means impact or it got squished and messed up the lens mechanism. You can have that repaired.

Hey dramaqueen79,
It sounds like you have internal damage to the camera. I would have it looked at be an authorized service center. If you are fine with the performance of the camera and all you want to do is be able to upload your images you could purchase a card reader(for an xd memory card) that connects to a usb port, and upload your images directly to your computer with the card reader.

Sincerely,
Allan
