Its a DLP and it may indicate (as you suggested) a coming problem.
Set uses a optical light engine and heat from the lamp can damage that engine inside---guess what? Blue is the part of the engine closest to the lamp and its heat.
Pray it is not that as most engines alone are over 500 dollar part.
there
are 3 color cathode in your TV red, green, blue cathode. The red and blue cathode
might not working in your set that is why you have a green screen. Open
the back cover of your TV you can immediately see the 3 cathode lamp at
the back. Clean the lamp first using a clean clothe. Power up you tv and see whether the 3 lamps are lit. If lamps do not light up,check the circuit board where this lamp is
connected re-solder all the components in this lamp. There is also an
individual screen adjustment for the lamps it is located at the front
panel and labeled RGB screen...try this first and let me know how it
goes..
this can happen as the set gets a bit older. the lamps inside burn extremely hot and do eventually burn out, this maybe the beginning of things to come. there is no fix shy of replacing a lamp which can be cost ly
If you used the exact replacement lamp then your tv has a defective light engine, call mitsubishi and make noise they might be willing to help with the cost- around $800 to $1200
I've had this problem with my projection TV recently. I would say your lens/lamp is to blame. It might be time to change it, depends on the last time it was changed, most of the time, the TV will tell you that it needs to be changed, but not always. I think your best bet is the TV lamp.
Sounds like the lamp is not far from going out.... I would get that replaced before you have no tv at all. It will go from semi blue to burned out lamp pretty quick.
