Re: DLP tv trouble shooting

Yes it could be a cooling problem, If your tv has any filters remove & clean them ensure fan can turn freely & that nothing can or is snagging it.

Why is my 42" dlp tv turns itself off after awhile?

the power supply is not working fine. your tv needs preventive service so that semiconductor, diodes and capacitors are changed on the power supply before it switches off completely on its own.

Samsung 50" DLP TV turns itself off

I had the same problem which also included the picture having streaks of red in it sometimes too. I found that both problems were due to the TV getting too hot inside. I bought a $7 small 4" fan from Walmart and pointed it at the back "door" of the TV (where the bulb can be replaced). Both problems have disappeared which I think is due to not letting the interior get too hot.

Not sure if there is an internal fan to cool the parts inside, but if there is it is not working well enough.
