To check the leak manually is when the compresor runs touch the condenser it must be hot.Or check the ventilation if it is a forced convection condenser with fan it must be hot if not then there is no refrigerant in the system.so no cooling.system has to be evacuated checked for the leak corrected and then recharged

I have a amana arb2217cb refrigerator/ freezer that is cool but not cold. No freezing capability.coils clean, defrost timer works fine, compressor is running- warm-not hot, it acts as though it might be...

Compressor running, not hot tells me there is a broken valve in that compressor. A good way to confirm is to take an amperage reading of the compressor. If it is way under the nameplate rating, the compressor is not compressing and moving the refrigerant gas.

My samsung a/c(1.5 ton) is not getting cooling nowadays. Even though compressor is running. What could be the issue?

If the compressor is actually running, it sounds as though your system is out of or low on gas. One of the things you can check is whether there are any signs of oil stains around any connections, particularly screwed connections or fittings. As the compressor lubricating oil is carried through the system by the refrigerant, any sign of leaking oil is a sure sign that you are also losing gas.. Time to call a repairman.

I am a different person with the same problem the compressor kicks on ,the light is on but it doesnt get cold it does seem like the fan at the top isnt working the one in the middle is thank you

The compressor is running, that is a good sign. If you notice any cooling that is not a good sign. Even with the fan not running , the evaporator should have produce some cooling. Could it be that you are a condenser fan running? well, the compressor makes a distinct sound when it runs and you need to confirm that is running and not just the condenser fan.
Firstly- If you confirm that the condenser fan is running; that is, if there is one, that is good. Secondly- Check and confirm that the compressor is running Thirdly- If there is an evaporator fan inside the unit, check and confirm that is running.
If all checks okay and there is no cooling, the refrigerant might have escaped through a leak, and there will not be any cooling. You can extrapolate from my troubleshooting steps to diagnose the wine cooler problem.
Good luck

The a/c is not cooling, how do I know its not the compressor

If the compressor is running and not cooling, it is a sign of some blockage or gas leak.

If compressor running, remove the front grill, filter screen. Feel the evaporator (cooling ) fins top to bottom or vice versa. If little chillness is noticed faintly it is gas circuit related. Capillary block or gas leak or weak compression of the compressor. Take service help.

Air conditioner not cooling

You can't tell if you have a refrigerant leak unless you put gauges on. You may not have any sign of a leak and still be out.

I haver a 1989 cadi. and the air condi. compressor kicks on and offa and doesn't cool

if the compressor kicks on and off and doesn't cool this is the first sign of not having enough charge in the system. the a/c clutch will always kick on and off while running becuase this is dictated by the expansion valve which regulates the system, however you should have cool air about 50 degrees F for 134a at 35 psi on lowside and 130 150 psi on high side. the undercharge can becaused by degration of the 134a overtime or a leak in the system. have a certified ac tech look at the system and do a vaccum check for leaks if it holds a vaccum for 15 minutes at -29psi then there is no leak and the system just needs recharging.. please rate this

I have a Maytag Trilogy fridge freezer - model: G32026PEKB The compressor blew and has been replaced but does not cut out Advice please Nigel Winter

If the compressor runs continuously is everything freezing? If the compressor is running and it is not cooling the problem could be a refrigerant leak in the system. Visually check points where new compressor was brazed into place. Any sign of oil at these points indicates a leak. How long ago was the compressor replaced?
