Question about Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook
Had Ipod plugged in during a restart of my ASUS system, the error "windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer"
I have no Vista disc to do a clean install or repair from, its on a recovery partition which i cannot access.
I have removed all devices except wireless keyboard which is all i have and changed boot order to HDD first,
Not sure what else i can do.
The cause of this is because the devices connected from your machine was not been remove properly.
boot up your machine and hit F8 to boot into safe mode. if it doesn't work you need to reformat your OS because I suspected it has been corrupted. Before doing so, back up all your files because everything will be wiped out and will load to default factory settings.
you can use your hard disk as an external drive connected to other machine so you could back up all your files.

Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS the scroll down to advanced bios features press enter change your first boot device to cd,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart
note this will erase you operating system you will have to have an operating system disk to load it onto you hard drive or create a partition to load another operating system
(note after you have loaded the operating system you should go back and change the first boot device to your failsafe or optimized defaults)
after windows has loaded
