F01 is a very straight forward error and it means that your dryer has detected a short in the main relay power control board mounted to the left side wall under the top panel of the dryer. Oct 19, 2018
Please check your manual for the factory reset procedure that you've mentioned. If you can't find it, the next step would be to request the factory-reset from Maytag by calling them directly. You can check their website for their phone number or tweet at them via twitter if they have an account. Otherwise, you might need to setup an appointment with Home Depot repair to diagnose the problem at your home.
From the Maytag support website: Product Symptom:

Power unit up by turning on the circuit breaker(s).

Monitor the dryer for one (1) minute to ensure the error code does not display again.
F01 is a control unit failure does this come up when you push the start button or did you go into diagnostic to get this code I have seen it come up as a false code check the start button does it spring back like all the other buttons if so replace control if not the button is broke
The F01 error code is typically a communication fault. You may have a defective main control board. Unplug the dryer or turn off the breaker to the dryer. Double check to make sure dryer has no power. Remove the screws holding the top on at the back of the dryer. Standing in front of the dryer push down and slide the top away from you then lift. With the top removed you will see a metal bracket on the left side housing a control board. Remove the control board from the bracket. You may want to take a picture to reference where the wires go. Remove the white cover of the control board then gently remove the control board from the white housing by pressing in the small tabs. If you see a black mark on the back side of the control board and the white housing replace that control board. According to your model number the main control board is part number W10111606.
It's probably a weak or failed component on the board. It's a common issue on those machines and the Whirlpool Duets. It's usually burned at the motor relay or heater relay.
F01 error code flashes when there is a primary control failure.
The only thing which will solve an F01 error code is a new machine control board. These is a catastrophic control board failure. Nothing can correct it. The part number you require is W10205977.
The error code f01 indicates the primary control board failure. Before you replace that board I suggest that you unplug the dryer for 2 minutes then see if the error come back. If it does replace the board
