Demo display won't

When the sony cdx-gt310 stereo is not in use, "demo"-like information keeps repeating again and again on the display screen. it keeps showing info regarding the features of the stereo unit much like you'd see in the department store used to advertise the radio. It's driving me CRAZY! please, how do i make it stop. thanks for any help you have.

You need to turn off the DEMO mode. It's on page 10 of the manual:

I just put a cd in then pressed some of the buttons till they responded and it turned the demo mode off by itself. Try it a couple times see if it works.

And comments like the one by Bri0025 are why I quit supporting FixYa.

I second that, Mitch. They should really have someone come in behind morons like Bri0025 and remove their idiocy. It gives the site a bad name when any troll can post regardless of how asinine the comment is.

This is happeneing because the stereo does not have a battery power connections. The yellow wire is for a constant 12 volt connection. This connection is for the stereo's memory.

I have a Sony CDX-GT310 FM/AM Compact Disc Player with detachable faceplate. The unit still plays fine, but the display on the faceplate quit working. I've tried resetting the unit as well as cutting...

check the connectors between the faceplate and the unit carfully they can get damaged with constant removing/refitting if not the faceplate and/or unit is faulty

The yellow wire must be directly connected to an always ON B+12 such as the + terminal of the battery. This wire is responsible for providing power to the memory.

Hope that this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
