SOURCE: makita 12v impact driver- no reverse

I would suggest that you go to Makitatools.com and type in your model number and look at the breakdown for complete disassembly procedures. The only problem it could be it the tab on the switch or the shift lever is broken I would have to think it is the switch. Let me know if I can help more.

SOURCE: Makita 14.4V Cordless Impact Driver only works at high speed

Most cordless drill / drivers like this have electronic switchs which unfortunately would have to be fixed by a repair agent. Depending on it's age - make sure that you tell the agent that it never really worked properly, warrentys only cover parts that were faulty from manufacture and not wear and tear, so it may get fixed for free depending on the repair centre

SOURCE: how to pull apart makita 6980 impact wrench

the battery is removed. remove all screws around the outside of the drill/driver. the side comes off. the motor is a johnson motor connected to the planetary drive and hammer/anvil assembly. the motor drive extends inside the anvil via one gear off the motor. the hammer and anvil come out as one piece. if you depress the center of theanvil with an arbor press, two ball bearings come out and the escapment comes out with the spring. now you can clean the inside of the hammer and gears of the hammer drive.

Makita impact driver wobble

Many of my customers that use this tool heavily have the same problem. It's usually the Hammer Case (PN 154590-6). The nose if the case is the bushing that holds the anvil in place and sometimes wears out of round. Rarely the anvil (PN 324432-0) wears where it passes through the hammer case so check that also.

When I press the power switch it starts to work at maximum rpm

The variable speed function is controlled by the switch. On rare occasions you can remove the switch, spray it with electronics cleaner and blow it out well to get it to work again. Usually you have to replace the switch. The switch for your impact driver is Makita part number 638326-6 and runs about $65.

Btd144 when pull trigger light flashes drill dont go

The battery itself has a deep discharge protection .
Or the electronic or the battery its a new
phenomenon where you can have bought electronica and a triggerswitch and you have measured the electric field on 0.3 ohm on both 2x3 coils and the battery measured on maybe 15 Volt and it do not give nothing yes the lamps burned , but there was not an charger in my case delivered so i am also waiting for this problem by a Makita Jigsaw because a colleague has allready a electronic circuit and switch ordered and tried with that battery and an other battery but no life at all, so a new battery should may be working. or a broken or new damaged electronic part was delivered. that brushless tools are a young technical thing, many brands have.
the teething problems out, by the switches and the power mosnfets(panasonic) Makita is new for me this comparable problem a have also have yesterday.
next week i know more about a possible solution.
