Question about SmartDisk (FDUSB-TM) External Floppy Drive
Every time I put a floppy in external drive, it says that the floppy needs to be formatted.
This problem usually indicates you have failing hardware, (floppy drive, interface, or cable). It will need to be replaced or serviced by a knowledgeable technician.
Troubleshoot the problem:
Check the cable connections and carefully re-seat each plug at the drive, and at the motherboard. Otherwise, try a simple swap-out of the floppy drive itself if you have another one available. Make sure the system is turned off and has no power applied before touching anything inside the computer.
