Can't connect my mobile phone to pc via cable

i have usb cable, and i tried to connect my mobile phone to pc using cable, and it didn't work
i wanna transfer or copy the photos,videos and files from my mobile to pc via cable
my mobile is n73.

You didn.t mention if you have the software installed that is needed to access the phone via usb cable. Motorolla,.LG, Nokia and all the phones I have dealt with use their own proprietary software usually available from their respective web sites. The USB cable won't work without the phones software.
