Hi mitchellheal! I will be glad to assist you. This is what we are going to do, If the receiver is plug in to the power strip or surge protector, unplug it for 1min, then plug in directly to the wall outlet.. then the receiver will power on by itself, once you see attention 015 on the tv screen, press the menu button on the remote control, once you got the main menu, press 6,1,1 on the remote and it will go to point dish, select check switch, then it will go to installation summary, select test and let the test finish. once its done, select done and it will go to point dish, select done and cancel all the way out of the menu, and it will pop up attention 015, leave it to finish the progress, and let the programming guide download as well, once its done, it will show a tv show and check if the noise is still exist, if the problem still exist, pls call 1-800-333-3474 and talk to tech support dept, and inform them what you did and the problem, that is a dvr lost of function, problem with the hard drive..
