Hi.

This method will hard reset the wireless drivers back to default settings.
What i want you to do is right click "computer" select "manage" and then "device manager", a list will populate, then click on the + sign next to "network adapters" and right click on the network adapter and "uninstall" the device, reboot the PC and wait for windows to detect the network card and install the drivers for it, this will appear in the system tray (bottom right hand side) when its done try to connect again.

Good luck

That is a BAD THING! You never want to surf the web in safe mode, you have no protection from all the nasty beasties that live in www, you may have inadvertently allowed malware into your pc. Let's assume you have not and maybe the firewall settings are preventing your access.

I will assume you are using IE x, (Internet Explorer ver 7 or 8) open control panel, then internet options, then security, then reset all zones to default level. Hopefully this will solve the problem, if not then more information will be needed as to what kind of "protection software'" you have installed, it may need fine tuning.

My acer 5536 will not let me access my control pannel can you help?

When did this start? Maybe you have a virus or infection that is causing.

Have you tried booting in safe mode and see if you can access the contol panel?

Turn off the computer, then hit the power button to turn it back on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see SAFE MODE. Take the Safe Mode option and let it boot up. Safe Mode will look different to you, the screen will be darker and the icons bigger, this is normal. If you can access the Control Panel in safe mode you definitely have a virus or infection. Reboot the computer again as if you are going into safe mode, but this time select the Safe Mode With Networking option (this will give you internet connectivity). When it boots up open your internet browser and download and install MalwareBytes then run a Quick Scan.

Go to www.google.com and in the search box type: "Download cnet Malwarebytes" (without the quotes). Download and install malwarebytes from the sites download.cnet/malwarebytes. When the site opens up click on the Green Download button on the left. Do not click the Red Download button, that's junk. When it finishes installing the Gui Interface will open up with an offer to Accept a Trial Version or Decline. CLICK DECLINE you want the totally free version. Run a QUICK SCAN. As it scans, if it finds infections the number will be in red. When it finishes scanning, click SHOW RESULTS. A notepad text document will open up showing you the results. You can close the text document and go back to the Gui Interface where you will click REMOVE SELECTED RESULTS. The objects will already be selected for you. When it finishes removing the objects click ok and it will sometimes reboot your machine.

See if you can roll your system back to before you started having this problem.

Click Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore and select a Restore Point (date and time) before you started having this problem. System Restore does not delete any of your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs (unless the program was installed after the restore date you selected).

If you have Windows 7 just click Start and type in System Restore in the search box above the start and look up to see the results and click System Restore.

Can't get access to internet web sites

Are you connected to a WiFI network? You'll need to be in order to access the internet. Some WiFI networks (in hotels, often) allow you to connect but not use the connection unless you pay a fee.
Hope that helped!

My computer shows that it is connected but i can not access the web page.

Try starting Windows in Safe Mode with Networking. Press <F8> before Windows boots. If you can connect can connect to the Internet in Safe Mode, your PC might be infected with Spyware/Malware.

Download and install the following software:
  1. Combofix
  2. Malwarebytes
Scan your PC with both and see if this works. When you get your PC back in normal mode and you still can't connect, you may have to do an integrity check of the OS. See the following link:

Trying to access the cd rom on a Acer Aspire 9300

When you go to safe mode, make sure that you go to "safe Mode with Networking", that way you can access the net. To make sure you have a good connection, get a long ethernat cable and connect it directly to the back of the router, in case the wireless driver fails. Get on the net forst, then try this site for your cd reading problem.....

You may be infected with a virus. THe conficker is the latest threat and it prevents you from accessing AV sites. Symantec has a removal tool for the conficker (aka downadup). You need somebody to put it on a CD, and then run the CD on your machine

Try this, boot into safe mode with networking(press f8 during the post screen when you turn your computer on and chose safe mode with networking). Once you have logged into your account, in internet explorer go to www.ewido.com and run the online scanner(link is in the top right corner). If you still can't use your web browser in safe mode, download a couple anti malware programs on another computer and burn them to a cd or flash drive. Install them on your computer in "normal" mode and make sure they're updated. Then boot back into safe mode and run the programs individually. A couple good free anti malware programs are Spybot Search and Destroy, Lavasoft Adaware, and Superantiyspyware.
