Acer aspire one netbook battery won't charge

Battery light stays orange. Computer works when plugged in and battery removed. The power cord icon is in the system tray instead of the battery icon. I haven't used the computer much since I got it six months ago.

If the system doesn't run on battery, I'd contact acer and see about getting a replacement battery as it should be covered for the 1st year

Hi
i hv read your problem and it is surely the case of gone battery.
There are two solutions to this problem.
1. replace the battery with a new one.
2. recharge your battery (bt it is not a good choice as the battery will work fine for some time only).

and one very important thing i would like to suggest that if you are working with your system with power cord connected please remove the battery as the back voltage will effect some IC's.

if you find the solution helpful please give me good rating
thnx

I have an Aspire One (AOA 150 1283 ZG5) with a non charging battery issue. I went to the Acer site......downloaded the Bios update..... the unit restarted on its own and the problem was fixed.
MAKE SURE YOU EXTRACT THE FILES AND READ THE INSTUCTIONS!!!!!
Although I never use the little critter at least I know it will work if I ever do use it.

Acer aspire one shows no power light when charger is plugged in...charger shows 6 volts

Hello, I'll do my best to help you out.
The Acer One have one weird problem, and that is of the mother board. "Naaahh, how can that be?" you may ask. The BIOS in the motherboard have a bug, in which in a certain amount of time it will shut down the Netbook and it will give you the impression that it's dead. But it isn't. As you posted it here, the power supply is working fine. I'm not sure if it's still available, but there is a patch, which it will allow you to flash and fix the Netbook. Now, I'm not able to share the patch with you just because there is no detIl on your Netbook, for example, I own an Acer One ZG5. If yours happen to be the same exact model, let me know and I'll do everything I can to share the patch with you and how to flash it.

Acer Aspire 5552 won't power up, charge light flashes on and off

Remove the battery and plug in the Cord/charger, will it boot? If no, try another Cord/Charger with the EXACT same power specs. Replace battery if necessary.

Try to remove your battery and plug in your AC adapter
If its working:
You need to replace your battery
If its not working:
Try to check if the LED indicator is lit

If the LED indicator is not lighted. Replace your AC adapter

Thanks. Cheers!

Acer aspire one D150-1Bw battery not charging

the battery is gone dude. This year manufactures have reduced the quality of batteries drastically to cut down the costs and i think u got even the worst of them.

and whats more they they dont even give warranty on batteries for more than 6 months.

so U'll have to get new one. Sorry

Acer aspire one battery light flashes orange. When booting after a few seconds it shutsdown. Now all lights stay off. Can this acer netbook work without batery ? It doesn't seem to charge the batery

Finally I got it working again, after a lot of try's (just put the plug in for a few hours) the led was red again for a brief moment, then it starting to flash orange again.
I looked it up on a lot of forums, the problem is that the (old) bios doesn't charge the batery anymore when it is deeply discharged.
So I put the plug in and out for about 10-15 times , and the brief moment it is not flashing it's still charging. Until it is not deeply discharged anymore and then it is charging the batery like it did before.

But I still don't understand why it is not working without the batery inserted ??

Just plug the computer into the wall with the supplied power cord (while the battery is in the computer). This will charge your battery.

Hi when i plug in my aspire one notebook it says battery fully charged but when i unplug it goes off. the battery light is orange when plugged in can u help please

Hello elaineedd6,
There may be some settings that can allow a fully charged battery to display a green light whether or not the computer is plugged in. It might be useful to look at the power options:
•Right-Click the battery icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
•Click on 'power Options'.
•Click an option on the left side of the power options window.

It's ok to change and select different settings to find out which ones work for you.

If this solution is helpful please click 'YES' by 'Was this helpful?' below.

Have a great day,

Completely blank screen when power is on.

do a hard reset....remove charger>remove peripherals>remove battery> press and hold the power button for about 30secs, while batt and charger is removed> then plug in the charger only and turn ON!

Please vote, thanks!
