Drive belt install on JD GT275

When installing a drive belt (the one from the motor to the transmission) on a JD GT275 there is a metal bracket with loops on both sides of the motor pulley. I don't know if the belt is to go between the loops or on the inside of the loops. Do I have to take the bracket loose to run the belt on the inside of the loops or does the belt just run along side the bracket?

The bracket with loops keeps the belt in position when it is slack (disengaged). The bracket usually has to be loosened to even get the new belt on, the belt ONLY runs on the pulleys.

A2550 motor belt still slipping after replacing it with a new one. and there is no ajustment on the dirve motor, what to do?

Harvey, there are problems with the front plastic pully slipping on the metal drive roller. It appears that the drive belt is slipping. Just make sure that you rule the pully out first. If after that the pully stops with the front roller and the walk belt, there are only Two different drive belts used, double check the part number. Usually I use a ratcheting strap to pull the drive motor up to the bracket, because the belt is so tight there is no other way to get the motor close enough to the bracket to get the 3/8" bolts to even start into the motor. If you did not severly struggle to install the new drive belt, chances are its the wrong one.
