Do I need software to play dvd movies on my 2006 honda odyssey it doesnt reconize dvd movies.

Pull out your manual and make sure that it can play all types of movies. I am guessing that you are putting in BluRay movies and it only accepts regular DVDs

All of the audio features (radio and XM) work on my 2006 Honda Pilot, but not the CD changer. It does not even display that discs are loaded when the "CD" button is pressed. What could be...

This happened to my 2006 Honda Pilot with 60K miles. I had 6 CDs in and it stopped working. No error, but it would not recognize when I pressed the CD, Load or Eject buttons. Everything else worked. I called Honda and they would not offer any warrantee help. I did not try to unplug the battery or any other button combos to do a "reboot". I found a refurbished replacement deck on ebay for $150. (There are super tiny numbers on the right side face of the deck, be sure to get the right one, there are minor differences.) I found an install guide and took the old one out and put the new one in. This one seems to work fine.

There was no easy way to get the CDs out even when it was out of the dash. Had to remove the heat sync and then lots of screws. I was finally able to get to the CDs out. One of the CDs had a label that was a little warped and creased. Not sure if that caused the problem, but the owners manual does caution against CDs with labels. No more labels for me.

2004 Honda Pilot single CD player - is it possible for a cd to be 'lost' in the player? Put a cd in but it did not recognize or eject. Put in a secong cd and it plays.

I have had the same problem with my 2003 Pilot single player. Over the life of the car, it has eaten 2 CDs and they are still in the player. CDs still play fine. How can I get them out? One is a library CD, and they want me to pay them for it. I'm not sure they believe that the car ate my CD.

I have 2006 honda odyssey. i cannot use dvd system, because i cannot eject dvd. how can i eject dvd?

To eject the dvd from the dvd player you have to push the eject button on the dvd player, if the dvd is stuck inside the dvd player you have to get it checked by a service technician

My 2005 Honda pilot navigation system is broken - it won't even come on at all. Any thoughts on what the problems might be?

I have a few thoughts, but they may not be worth much: it's a pretty involved system.
You might check fuse number 11 (10A) in the passenger's side fuse box. I think it shares the navi system with the interior light (of course, if you interior light is working, that tends to suggest that there is nothing wrong with the fuse, not I'd check it anyway).
You might take a look at the Control Unit (under the passenger's seat) and see if the DVD (the database for the system) is okay. To remove it, you have to turn the ignition switch to the ON II position, then pull the door on the control unit open and push the eject button. The DVD will automatically come out. You can then check it for dirt or such, maybe clean it, and slide it back into the slot (it gets pulled in automatically). Make sure the label is up when you do that. And make sure to close the door. I would think that if the DVD does NOT come out when you push the eject button, the unit is not getting power for some reason.
Sorry that's all the help (if any) I can be on this.

Honda Odyssey dvd player not working after having battery jumped

If you disconnect your battery for an hour and then reconnect, the dvd will just pop right out. This happened to us, Honda did not know how to fix it and they wanted me to pay $400 for a new one. But while they were trying to figure it out they were sticking screwdrivers and pens into it and have now broken the whole system and refuse to pay for it.
