Question about Computers & Internet

Administrator log in problem

I just recently purchased a new HP pavilion dv2500 centrino with the new Vista operating system. I managed to install Office without any problems, but when I tried getting my internet setup with the disc that my ISP gave me, I get a message saying "To set up BigPond Broadband ADSL, you need to be logged on as an Administrator of this computer. Please log out and log back in an as administrator." So the frustrating part is that my account is an administrator account, has been since initial setup. I've even created a second administrator account and tried the internet setup with that account, but with no luck. Please help! I'm really starting to get frustrated with this.

Kind Regards,

Log in using the account name "Administrator".
If you do not have the password, reset it and try again.

Another option is to use " runas /USER: admnistrator install.exe " in a cmd window.
to launch the install program under admin account.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

I forgot my hp password

This is only possible if you are using Windows XP. If your operating system is windows Xp, follow the steps below:

  1. Turn on your laptop and allow it get to the stage where is will ask for user/log password
  2. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del your keyboard.
  3. A user name and password prompt will pop up.
  4. On the user name type in "administrator
  5. On the password, type in "administrator"
  6. and you windows will open, go to control panel from there to change the password.
That's all. In other words, the user name and password is administrator.

But in the case of windows Vista, you will have to re-run windows operating system, because vista security is very tight and it is difficult to break into its password.

Take care.

Need password unlock code for HP Pavilion dv5

You can start it in safe mode pressing the F8 change between brands but must out there use f8... when you start in "safe mode" in the log in screen you will find your user name and the administrator one...normally the administrator don't have password, so you can log into it and there you have the permission to delete other users passwords...
If you don't found that option, there is an other option but you need to download it and burn it in a cd... Is called ERD Commander here is the link for it: the password for decompress it is:( munda ) when you have burned it, insert it in you cd drive> go to your computer bios>select boot priority>change it for boot from cd first...once you have done that press f10 and select the option yes to save your settings and restart your pc....then your computer will start with a wizard looking like windows xp...complete all the things that it request...when finally boots up>go to start menua and select system tools>locksmith and delete all the passwords that you want...that's it! restart without the cd in the drive and log in! "Hope it works for you"
