danval, I looked up a pic of your scanner and it is pretty straightforward. If it is the 16 channel I was looking at, here is the step by step programming.
1- Push manual button to go to the channel you want to start programming.
2- Enter the freq number in.
3- Push the E button to enter it in the memory.
4- To review what you programmed, push the Review button.
5- Use manual button to step to next channel and start over from #2
That should get you started with the scanning hobby.
The scanner has a Priority button that when activated will stop scanning and go immediatly to the priority channel if someone keys their mic.
If you need freq's (or more of) for your area, go here and click on your state and county and it'll give you a complete listing.

Hope this helps you out, let us know,, Mechanic

The scanner was probably turned off and it forgot what frequencies were programed into it. Older scanners have a problem with retaining their memory when they are shut off. Most of the older scanners have a memory back-up battery that helps the scanner retain its memory. Check and see if this battery is still good. As for your frequencies, you'll have to reprogram the scanner. To put it in technical terms, some older scanners have what is called RAM (Regency Alterable Memory) and ROM (Regency Organized Memory), when you turn off you scanner, this memory is erased, along with your programmed channels. Be sure not to turn off your scanner unless you're willing to reprogram the scanner.

Lost all icons from desktop

The use of desktop icons has served to simplify opening and using programs in Microsoft Windows.
With a simple click of the mouse, an entire program can be opened.
Unfortunately those desktop icons can also be deleted, sometimes accidentally or sometimes by the desktop cleaning utility that runs in Windows, but there is a simple process to recover desktop icons.
Just follow these steps.

Click it without a ticket.
To restore lost desktop icons, first place your mouse anywhere in a blank area on your desktop. Once you have placed your cursor in an unused area of the desktop, right click.
Check the pop up.
Once you have right-clicked your mouse in the unused area of your desktop you will receive a pop up menu or prompt.
Choose "Properties" by left clicking it with your mouse.

Grab that tab. Once you have clicked on "Properties" you will receive a dialog box.
Click on the tab labeled "Desktop."
Customize it.
Once you have clicked the "Desktop" tab choose "Customize Desktop" which will prompt another dialog box to open.
From there click on the "General" tab.
Restore order.
After you have clicked the "General" tab you will see a list of icons.
Simply choose the icons you want restored or placed on the desktop and then click "OK."
That's it.
You have now successfully restored your desktop icons.

Setup sys w/disa answer, send to all ext. then a single voicemail on no answer

Not easy. There are about 10 programming steps that are outlined in the Features Manual 1.1.8 pages 15-21 and references. You basically set up Common BV messages and message area that the System Operator/Manager can retrieve.

Full programming instructions are beyond the scope of free support, but the features manual BV is a good place to start.

Good luck.
