It makes a creeking noise and then will print out a dark page that looks like wood grain

If there is an error code with the 'check printer' then this would be more helpful. If the error code is ~ #323 then you have a laser unit fault- if it is #322 then you have a fuser unit issue. Both units are replaced as a unit.
