No sound from EMACHINES W 3502

I recovered my computer about 3 weeks ago and now I can not get my speakers to work. I have hooked the speakers up to another system and they worked fine. What could the problem be?

Have an E Machine computer and Samsung monitor - both about 7 years old. Two weeks ago I lost the sound and hope you can tell me my problem and how to fix it. Thanks

go to device manager and see if there is a yellow mark near your sound driver. try to uninstall the sound driver and let windows find it automatically and install it. if you have powered speakers make sure its plugged in. try some headphones to see if you get audio.

Make sure the speakers are hooked up properly and also that the sound card drivers are installed, you can verify this by going into the device manager. The main speaker wire has to be hooked up to the output of the computer sound card.

If the sound card drivers are installed and the speakers are hooked up properly and your still not getting sound, try the speakers on another computer that you know has sound. If the speakers work then its a sound card driver issue on the original computer. If the speakers don't work on another computer then you know the speakers are bad.

No sound

When my sound output set to off and I use the remote to change volume; it tells me speakers off.

Try a different output method: hook up headphones, other speaker type... these answers should help you find a solution.

The quickest way is to reinstall but first uninstall , reboot then install disk and disconenct speakers otherwise a setting may still be active. Regards GeWiz.

No Sound Through Speakers

Hi Jake,

If you haven't done so already, I'd try double checking the speaker wiring, you may have some exposed or badly kinked wires behind the unit.
