I lent my car to my son - yes, well. . .
I got it back with two new tires on the back (mine had blown out) and the driver's side tires put onto the front, plus shocks and struts in need of repair. The car had been heavily laden and driven about 200 miles. I drove the car for 5 minutes and noticed that the steering wheel was jerking back and forth (the wheels sounded like they were about to fall off). A loud thudding noise was coming from the front in sync with the shaking steering wheel! I got the shock absorbers fixed, and hoped that this would solve the problem. It didn't. The thudding and steering wheel problem are still there and the car is vibrating up a storm! I've made an appointment to get the two front tires looked at. . .
Help! My car used to drive like a dream - now it's a nightmare of shaking and thumping and wrestling with the steering wheel to keep it straight.
