When I purchased the car, the cd player did work, then all of a sudden after ejecting a cd, it won't read cd's any more - it just spits out the cd.

HELLO I HAVE A JVC KD-S680 IT HAS BEEN WORKING FINE FOR THE PASSED 5 YEARS ALL OF SUDDEN ON WED...IT DECIDED THAT IT DIDN'T WANT TO PLAY OR READ ANY OF MY CD'S...I PUT IN A CD IT'LL SAY PLAY THEN IT JUST GOES RIGHT TO THE FM2 RADIO...I'M GOING TO TRY AND RESET AND SEE IF THAT WOULD WORK. It wasn't a car cd player, but a component for a stereo. I took off the case and shook the player until the disc dropped out. We plan to replace the player, so no further help is needed. Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.

Make sure the red wire is still connected or make sure the red wire hasn't been severed. Also, check the fuses located in the engine compartment. The red wire connects accessory terminal in the fuse block. Also check the fuses in the cabin. This fuse box is typically located on the driver's side, at knee level, next to the door panel, and underneath the dashboard. As a last resort, the unit can be taken to an authorized or factory service center.
