You need to tell us what shower head it is. Usually the flow restrictor is in the section that screws onto the pipe that goes into the wall. Be careful when you take it off so that you don't mar the chrome finish,

How do I get more water pressure from my american standard shower set

Hi Fran:
Most shower faucets now are equipped with flow restrictors. It is possible with some units to remove the flow restrictor plate from the shower nozzle. It has to be dis-assembled to do that.
Regarding the lack of hot water, that would usually be a different problem and will be related to the hot water source.
Hope this helps.

I have bought several shower heads as the spray pressure is low but none have helped. The pressure is ok on low setting on half heat but too cold. On full heat its too hot on min setting. Help plz ?

The problem is that all shower heads sold now have to be low water volume. You can take the restrictor out and see if that helps. Look for a blue or white plug type insert in the fixture that has a slot on it. Pull it out and you should be good.

The shower is coming up with low pressure soon as you turn on checked filters all ok

Hello,

Remove the shower head and check the water flow. If it is good, look inside the head for a restrictor that is designed to reduce the flow rte. It can be either rubber or plastic, with a smaller hole than the inside diameter of the pipe. Remove the restrictor and re-install, making sure that you still have a rubber washer to prevent leakage.

Best regards, --W/D--

My water pressure is very low from the original install is there a way to adjust the faucet to allow a better pressure flow

Your issue could be caused by the water restrictor in the shower head. To know for sure, remove the shower head and then turn the water on.

Very tough water restrictions have manufacturers using plastic water restrictors in the shower heads.

Although you are not supose to, some shower heads can be taken apart to modify, or remove the restrictor.

I hope this helps you.

How do you fix hot water shuts off during shower with Model N-069M-OD installed December 2006?

Try flowing more hot water with your shower. During the summer you end up mixing alot of cold water and very little hot water (because your cold ground water isn't so cold in the summer). When you get close the minimum flow rate of the appliance, it will start to short cycle (fire on and off). Here's some recommended things you can do:

1) Clean the shower head - remove scale deposits and or clogging
2) Widden flow restrictor - most shower heads have a flow restrictor on the back of the showerhead; It consists of a rubber washer with a hole in the center. You can widen the hole using a drill bit.
3) remove the flow restrictor - this should be a last resort

Flow restrictors

Remove the shower head from the arm and look inside the connector on the showerhead. You should see a plastic or metal piece that will either unscrew or need to be pulled out with needle nose pliers. Once that's been removed the flow should be improved.
