Hi,

We all are aware regarding the replacement part they introduced. However, no one is aware of the instruction. Even the local Tech would not able to set this. Regarding the old Part, It's NOT available anywhere. You can search ebay, repairclinic and all other sites. I checked around 50 sites :( , Still most of them either have no replacement or they have the new part.

You need to call GE to get assistance. There must be some modification they might make to fit this into the oven. I have read the instructions, so BAD and SMALL in print and still there is no resemblance of the wiring you can see.

I know its' frustrating, However, you need to call GE.

Hope i helped you.

DO RATE THE SOLUTION.

Thanks for using "Fixya".

Hi there,

You need to provide model number of your oven.
Note - Wiring may be different from the origonal and may require a technician to install, to prevent any damage.

Thanks

I need to replace my 1987 approx. Chef wall oven Balmain fan forced and grill. Does anyone know the cut out dimensions. I want to buy anew oven that will fit the existing opening. Thanks

when you buy the ovens replacement
instructions are given in the paper work how to adjust the cavity to suit

there will have to be an air gap on back and sides of the new oven

you should call an electrician to wire in the new oven
to check , even replace the 1987 wiring and connections
if needed to meet the 2016 house wiring standards

you will need
tape measure
pencils
a square
straight edge
reversible hand drill and bits
two levels .... for inside the cavity to level oven
approx a 15 inch .one 6 inch
a hand saw or circular saw
, i found a jigsaw helpful

self tapping screws different lengths
as per the oven fitting requirements
you can use any paint to finish the job

white board or MDF board is ok

some extras strips of timber to level the new oven
maybe required

if imperial was used for the cavity of the old oven
metric might be for the new oven

I have a GE Gave oven. THe top burnes work and the broiler works but when I set the oven to BAKE, nothing happens. THe digital display says it is pre-heating, but it doesnt get hot??

you have a bad ignitor, take out the racks and remove the floor of the oven, you'll see the round ignitor with two 1/4 inch screws holding it on,you can remove the burner tube that the ignitor is connected to with the ignitor on it or you can remove the screws, cut the wires close to the old ignitor and remove it,screw on the new ignitor, leave around6 or 8 inches of wire on the new ignitor, cut back the old wires so you can wire nut the wires together, start the oven and the ignitor should ignite the flame in like 20 to 40 seconds.it doesn't matter what wires you connect, you don't have to worry about if the left wire coming out of the ignitor connects to the same wire the old one connected to,just as long as the wire nuts are tight on the 2 connecting wires you'll be fine.the part number is WB13K21 and the ignitor is around 80 bucks.you can kill the power to the oven but no power is going to the ignitor if the bake isn't on so as long as you don't touch anything else you'll be fine, let me know how you make out

Having trouble replacing an oven ignitor

Hi,
All that means is to take the outside insulating coating off of about 1/2" of the wire... that is stripping the wire and making it bare... then you take the two wires that need to be connected and twist them together,,,, then twist the ceramic nut over the wires til it gets tight...this gives you a good connection... make sure that none of the bare wire is out past the back of the nut where it could hit metal and short out..

Fan oven not heating but fan and light work

Most likely the heating element has failed. You need to replace it. It is not a difficult job, you just remove the old one and fit the new one. you will need to undo a few retaining screws and remove the connecting wires from the old one and connect them back to the new one.

Remember to switch off the power to the oven before working on it.

Tricity Bendix SIE504W oven overheating

I have had a similar problem in that the top oven was overheating getting hotter and hotter and have just got a replacement thermostat from Partmaster.co.uk. This is to fit a Tricity Bendix from Currys model number DSIE520 GR. The new one seems just like yours in that it has three lettered connectors A,B and C. With the part came a sheet stating that for a free standing appliance with NO timer (this what my cooker is) the connections to be made are : 2 on old part to A on new; F on old to B on new; G/H on old to C on new and the link from G/H and 6 on old to be removed or "severed". I haven't yet done this as its in my cottage which I'm going to this weekend. Good luck! James
