Question about Dell 946 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Error 1203 I have tried all of the suggestions and the printer still will not print and the error message continues.

I found if you cover a copper contact on the color cartridge the error clears and the cartridge works. Looking from the contact side for the color cartridge 2nd row contact 2 from the left. I found if I use an ohm meter from 2nd to 3rd contact I measure 119 ohms. I believe that is a shorted cartridge. If you bought it New I would get it replaced. I use a SMALL square piece of Scotch tape. I believe this will work on Lexmark printers

I cannot copy or scan message #1203 keeps coming up


The 1203 error message indicates either a communication problem between one of your cartridges and the printer or a short in one of the cartridges. Follow the steps below to fix the problem:
  1. Power off the All-In-One (AIO) and remove the power supply from the back of the unit. Wait 30 seconds, then reinsert the power supply and power the AIO on. Did the error message return? Yes: Continue to step 2. No: Print a test page. If the test page prints, the error is resolved.
  2. Power off the AIO and remove the power supply from the back of the unit. Open the top cover of the AIO. Using the carrier belt, gently move the cartridge carrier to the middle of the unit.

Ok Error 1203 is an issue that occurs either when a cartridge is bad or the printer cartridge Slot is bad...

1 - try cleaning the copper contacts of the both carts and cart slot in the printer and try again..
or
2 - when error shows up, shut the printers power off; wait one minute and turn it back on press copy.

Replaced colour cartridge and got error 1203

MMy printer will not print, fax, copy, or scan. Theres a messages coming up saying Error#1203
