Question about Insignia IS-LCDTV32 32 in. Television

1 Answer

No video on LCD 32' insignia

I have 32' LCD insignia tv. When I turn it on i can see the screen energizes (i guess)but remains blank (dark) I can hear sound and i can change channels. I know about those 3 capacitors from other posts but im not sure if I have a same problem (other people mentioned that their tv flashes momentarely). I will change them tommorow anyway to see if that does anything. However, if you have any advice please let me know.

Re: No video on LCD 32' insignia

If you have audio and no picture shine a flashlight across the screen and see if you can see a very faint picture on the screen.
If so the backlight drivers need to be replaced... A shop job unless you want to risk breaking the screen - and not terribly expensive.

Tv wont turn on

does the light stay or blinking and how about the screen display totally black or a white screen. you can see in a dark room if their is a white screen. if totally black screen then with sound the cause is could be bad inverter board or screen back light. if a white screen it was the t-con board not working good.

Screen is blank but can hear all the channels. cable guide shows up but no picture. What do you think the problem is

The video circuit section of your LCD needs service and this will require board level troubleshooting and by a qualified service tech. There is a light tube or floresent tube that excites the liquid crystals to give visual to the screen and it may have blown and needs replacement.

Since you don't mention how you're receiving the signal, I'm assuming you use a cable box or computer. Adjust the output settings (e.g. 720p, 1080p) on the box and then adjust your TV settings. If it's a computer, you'll need to adjust the video card settings to a compatible aspect ratio (e.g. 1366x768) for the desktop to display properly on the TV. Details can be found in the owner's manual.
