The buttons not working on olympus camedia D-560

I was changing some settings on the olympus camedia d-560 camera and the menu buttons stopped working. However, when the lens was shut, the menu buttons worked. Then I accidentally changed the setting to ON ... meaning when the camera is powered off the settings would be the same as when the camera is on. NONE of the buttons works...the flash, the timer, the menu...not even able to use the buttons to scroll through the photos that are taken. HELP please!

When we repair cameras we repair by replacing a part like a button board. Unlike year past when camera could be fixed most often without parts todays digital almost always need parts replaced. Manufactures are producing much cheaper products who's life span is far shorter than the 35mm of the past.

I'm trying to download Camedia 4.1. After saying yes to the agreement, it asks for your name and serial number. Where can I find the serial number? I have a Olympus Digital Camera D-560 zoom. Disk is for...

I think they're after the serial number on the Camedia disk. Looks like a COA (Code of authority) number.

Olympus ship a Camedia disk with new camera's.

If its of any use mine is:-

ZCM1-410E-1016-6943-SA44

I don't use the software, Nero's much better.

If that's not what they're after, our Olympus camera has a small base plate near the battery housing with a number on it.

And if that's still no good, use their "Contact us" links and ask them just exactly what are they after.

I need help with setting the self timer on the Olympus Camedia c-700 camera. Can't figure how to do it with the menu. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

the self timer usually works like this.
find the self timer setting and set it to 5 or 10 seconds.
then exit the menu and click the button that you normally press to take photo. the self timer will start automatically and the picture will be taken after 5 or 10 seconds (depending on what you set).
note that the self timer will be reset to off after this.

How to change language olympus camedia c 40 zoom

There is not a setting in the camera that allows you to change the language option in this camera. It would be located in the Mode Menu under Setup tab if it existed.

Selected resolution will not save

You need to change the setting in the Menu of ALL RESET from ON to OFF so that it will retain any setting changes that you make. To do this Press Ok button - right arrow to Mode Menu - down arrow to Setup tab - right arrow to All Reset - right arrow and choose Off and then press Ok. This will retain the mode setting until you manually change it again or change all reset back to On.

Olympus Camedia D-560 Zoom camera opens but won't zoom or shoot

Hey Realblond,
I would try resetting the camera back to factory specifications. You can do this by selecting mode reset under the shooting mode menu. If this doesn't work I would have it looked at be an authorized service technician.

Sincerely,

Menu buttons don't work on a D-560

It would be good to know if you can navigate the menu with the jog buttons. If so, then the card may have failed. If not, the microswitches or the buttons themselves may have failed. You can access these by removing the six phillips screws and carefully prying (do not use metallic objects here) the back cover assembly off. If the plastic buttons are loose individual pieces, they have broken and need replacing. If they are intact, the board has to be replaced and an authorized repair shop is where you need to go.
