Question about Kenmore 56562 / 56564 / 565 / 6656569 Side by Side Refrigerator
There is a constant beeping sound coming from the control panel at the top of the frig side. When it originally started overnight, the refrigerator itself shut off somehow and I had to manually push the on/off button to turn it back on where it works fine now but still has the constant beeping.
Self-defrosting refrigerators use a circulating fan to move the air through the freezer and refrigerator compartments. This fan runs whenever the unit is cooling. The fan is located in the freezer.
Over time, the fan may become noisy--usually making a chirping or squealing sound, though it may make a loud groaning noise instead.
To find out if the fan is causing the noise, just open the freezer door and push any fan/light switches. If the noise is louder when the door is open, the evaporator fan motor is the cause which can't be lubricated or repair instead required to be replaced.
