The floats in the carb are sticking! That is why it is overflowing. You can adjust the carb idle screw and needle height

This seem issue with the engine governor which should maintain the voltage at the rated speed. The generator should already have a voltage regulator in the control circuit.

The governor is designed to automatically speed up the generator, or slow it down, depending on load demand. Get the governor checked by a qualified technician and if you know how to do it be careful with the test leads and don't get shocked.

Try these: With air filter off see if the carb is loose at all. if it is then it is sucking air. tighten it and it shoild be fine. If it is tight there should be a screw at the bottom of the float bowl. open it and let about a half cup of fuel drain. Try it again. If it is ok then you had water in the fuel. If it still runs rough there are at least one screw on the carbs body (not the idle adjust) turn it all yhe way in and then back it out 1 1/2 turns. Try adjusting the roughness by turning the screw with the engine running. If still no joy then see if there is an in line filter change it. It may be clogged. Also try loosening the fuel tank cap. It may be causing a vacuume that is not letting enough fuel get to the carb. If these fail then remove the carb and kit it. Blow out all passeges with some carb cleaner. Then blow it dry with compressed air prior to reassembly. If this answer satisfies your question rate my answer button. If it does not, please tell me so. I just bought a mud blaster 110cc quad for my son, why does it start then 2 min later stop even with feathering the throttle?

#1 sounds like a fuel delivery system issue. Make sure the fuel tank flows freely to the carb. (remove the fuel line from the carb--from the gas tank and turn on the petcock--gas should flow freely) The needle and seat may need to be cleaned or replaced, this controls the flow of gas into the float bowl of the carb.(remove the drain screw from the bottom of the carb (with everything properly assembled- petcock on)..gas should continually flow through the bottom of the carb --10-15 seconds of continual gas flow will make sure its flowing properly! Both of these sound like a solution to your problem.

Has this ATV been sitting for a while? actually sounds like a fuel delivery system issue. make sure you have gas freely flowing to the carb.. then have a professional clean and set the carb. You are actually waiting in the carb to fill with gas during this time... the needle and seat need cleaning or replacing

Still problems

The symptoms would seem to indicate a blocked air filter. Just because the fuel filter is showing fuel, doesn't mean it is getting to the jets. After a complete fuel system clean it could be something as simple as some dirt in the jets of the carb. When you clean something as thoroughly as that you can still miss something.

23 hp Kawasaki FH680v engine losses power when engaging pto!

We had issues in the UK with issues like this, they would blacken and soot up the plugs and start to run on on cylinder, there was an internally vented carb rather than the externally vented carb to cure this.

Wont start i have changed gas and spark plug

kill switch in proper position for run? fuel valve on if applicable?choke on ? sorry i had to ask. pull plug out ,connect plug wire and see if spark by grounding plug on engine, than a sharp pull from recoil- should see spark. good spark? if so- now see if fuel is reaching carb by removing screw on bottom of carb float bowel . this must be done out side - i know there is a blizzard going on. remember where all gaskets go and are properly on when putting back together. If no FRESH fuel FLOWS OUT WITH GAS ON your needle on the float shaft is probably stuck in the seat of the carb.Pull down on float gently to release needle valve.may have to shoot some carb cleaner in there. be prepared to shut off fuel if it starts flowing. If no shutoff ,pinch off fuel line with small vice grips or hemo's. all jets should be cleaned if old gas dried in bowel over time.

Our troy bilt self propelled lawn mower is about 8 years old and has served well. However it has developed the following problem: requires extra priming to start and then dies....will not remain started....

The float and needle need replacing. Take the carb off soak in a high octane gas or booster for 15 min. The float isn't floating in the gas bowl, which rises the needle to let more fuel in. When you prime the carb, you are directly shooting gas to the carb, this is why it will start and then shut down because the float can't keep gas flowing in. A kit cost about $5-7 and easy to replace.
