Question about Pool & Spa

I have a bestway 10 ft pool, filter making loud noise, doesn't seem to be working. Its only been in use for the last 2 days, tried releasing air, makes no difference.

the pump is a Flowclear 58145, I've cleaned the filter
it seems like theres air trapped in water inlet/outlet
tubes. I've used the air release and taken it all off the pool and started again. Its better than it was but still noisy. Thank-you for your help.

Normally, the filter does not make any noises! The noise is generally from the pump. Since I am not sure what you have on the pool, to be able to find the issue, we will need a bit more information.

Do you have a seperate pool pump and filter? The pump will have a motor and some have a debris basket in front of the motor. If this is where the noise is coming from, you may want to return/exchange the pump if it is only two days old!! When you turn on the system, do you see water moving to the pump, air in the basket, or is the motor getting hot to the touch?

If you have a seperate filter from the pump, what is the pressure gauge reading on the top? If you have one, check it when the noise starts. If it is higher than it was when working properly, you have a blockage somewhere from the filter to the return line. If lower, then you may a small leak, generally o-rings, and will need to replace what is bad.

If the motor on the pump is making the noise, then it can either have debris in the Impeller area, or it is going bad. Hope this helps! If you can let us know what pump and flter you have, we may be able to find out what is going on.

My pump is the same as yours. It has also developed the loud noise. I opened it and found that the impeller is worn. Its hole is too big and not concentric with the magnet. This causes it to rattle on the pin which sounds a bit like it is sucking air. I am struggling to find a replacement impeller. Does anyone know where we can get one? I am in New Zealand

Filter working but making noise

This is an inexpensive product put out by China Manufacturing. So sorry to say, but you probably knew this as well, it is not of high quality and was not made to last. It actually is considered a Toy.
It sounds like you need to either live with the noise or replace the pump. I would recommend that if you can find it in the budget, upgrade to a real Pool Pump. Ask your local service provider or retail pool supply store about such an upgrade. But your pump is failing.
Good Luck.

Make loud noises on spin cycle and smoke when we open door

The loud noises seem to be a feature of newer front loading machines. We bought a Maytag and have had similar issues since day 1. We were told the bearings are the problem. They don't last and make major noise as they wear.

Try taking the pool filters cartridge out and following these steps to make sure that it is installed properly.
1. Clean debris from bottom of filter tank.
2. Replace element evenly on the collector hub in bottom of the filter body.
3. Place lid evenly on filter body and turn Easy-Lok™ ring clockwise until the safety latches engage securely.
4. Close and secure drain plug (located at the base of filter body).
5. Open air relief valve (Turn lever to left).
6. Open valves (Optional suction & return valves).
7. Prime and start the pump.
8. Once air has escaped the filter and a steady stream of water is flowing from the air relief valve, close the air relief valve and note the pressure gauge reading.

Hi sstanl, Is your pump output or flow normal back to pool? if there is no water flowing through system you will get no expulsion of air or pressure reading on gauge. If pump is working then you probably have a clogged air release valve and maybe a clogged gauge. Just remove air relief assembly from filter top, remove gauge and clear any obstructions in parts. You should easily be able to blow air thru assy with gauge removed. Teflon tape the components and snug them back in their places. restart your pump and voila! air will come out when prime is established.
