I have an Ariens 16H40 and it has no extension from the oil plug, to the outside of the mower to drain out the motor oil. Is there a part available?

You can find the parts in the plumbing section of any DIY store (hardware store, Lowes, etc.), and make up your own extension. Take the plug with you to match up the thread size.

Just make sure the extension is not in the way of anything such as the deck, or in your way where you'd step on it.

Where is oil drain plug on briggs & Stratton quatum 2100 6.0 model#wgvb2122

There should be a 3/8 pipe plug at the bottom of the oil dipstick. or there is one on the underside of the motor. You will notice it is a reverse from the other pipe plug in that you use a 3/8" ratchet and extension and plug the extension into the square hole.

Where is the oil drain plug?

Usually the drain plug is located under the deck by the shaft. It looks like a inverse plug. Use a socket wrench to undo it.

I have a Troy-Built Series 550 mower with a Briggs & Stratton engine. I cannot find the drain plug. Is there a good diagram available?

Most professional shops no longer drain the oil through a drain plug because of all the covers under the engine. With your Briggs and Stratton engine, the best way is to drain through the dipstick. You can purchase a suction device to **** out the oil, or you can drain it. To drain, place you mower on the tailgate of your truck, or on the picnic table. Grab a drain bucket, remove the dipstick and tilt the handle to the ground. The spark plug should be pointed straight up into the air. Might be a good idea to do a test run before removing the dipstick, so you will know exactly where to hold the bucket. All 20 ounces of oil will drain through the dipstick in about a minute if the engine has been warmed up. Refill with a good quality SAE HD30 weight motor oil. Remember...only 20 ounces. Check the oil level after filling before you start the engine.
Good luck.

most of the time, the drain plug is on the bottom of the deck, it will look like a square hole in motor... you will need a 3/8" extension to get the plug out.

I have a 2005 ariens zoom 22/50 and it won't start. Battery and starter are new. Both work (tested) It doesn't seem to turn over. half a cycle and boggs down.

more info would be nice. did you check the oil ? may be too much oil in motor ,(may be gas in base) change oil if needed. remove plug or plugs, ground them, try starter now. (if there is gas in base, your float may be full of gas,"sinking",replace float", ) if motor still dosn`t turn, try removeing all drive belts, and try again.

What kind of oil do I use and how do I hange the oil? I have a walk behind mower model HD4QN20RF.

you use 30HD only 20 oz.. There is a drain plug under the deck in the bottom of the mower. It takes a 3/8 " ratchet and an extension. Push the handles down, Disconnect the spark plug wire, Mower the blade to one side, Take out the drain plug, put a container to collect the used oil under the mower, Put the mower back down, And it will drain the oil. Check and make sure you are getting the oil in the container. When it has drained the oil, Put the plug back in, put new oil in the mower. Hope it helps.
Good day.

My yard man mower is blowing black smoke when I crank it. Why would this be?? It was low on oil, but we filled it up and it still smokes. Do we need to change the oil? If so how? It has a honda engine, and...

Like the other guy says drain the oil out. Disconnect the spark plug wire (for safety). Place the mower onto a stable platform to work from. To remove the drain plug usually you need a 3/8 ratchet and I use a short extension so I don't skin my knuckles. Put the extension end into the drain plug and remove. Have a drain pan to catch the used oil. Clean the area around drain plug first. When oil is drained replace the drain plug and tighten. Add your new oil. ONLY ADD ABOUT 15 OUNCES. Use SAE 30 motor oil. Once you get the oil in set it on a flat surface and check for the proper level. Add if needed. Usually the push mowers only use about 16 ounces. I start with 15 because it is easier to add than remove the oil. Replace the spark plug wire, prime and start. It may smoke awhile to get the old oil burnt up.

I have a troybuilt push lawnmower with a honda motor, I was wondering where the oil plug was where I can drain the oil.

It is under the mower, you will need a 3/8 ratchet and extension to take it out...make sure NOT to tip the mower over, you will have to raise it, but make sure the spark plug end stays up!!!
